A Liberal Coup is in progress

Derrick Watson, a Democratic Party activist who was appointed to the federal bench in Hawaii by President Obama in 2012, has issued a purported injunction barring implementation of President Trump’s travel order. I have not yet read Watson’s opinion, and will comment on it in detail when I have done so. But I have read Trump’s order, and the idea that it somehow can be blocked by a federal judge is ridiculous. The order is absolutely within the president’s constitutional discretion.

What we are seeing here is a coup: a coup by the New Class; by the Democratic Party; by far leftists embedded in the bureaucracy and the federal judiciary. Our duly elected president has issued an order that is plainly within his constitutional powers, and leftists have conspired to abuse legal processes to block it. They are doing so in order to serve the interests of the Democratic Party and the far-left movement. This is the most fundamental challenge to democracy in our lifetimes.

The battle lines are clearly drawn. What Watson has done has nothing to do with the law. It is a partisan coup, and must be resisted.

1. John Hinderaker is a far-right blogger

Big whoop.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Line

Power Line's authors typically support the Presidency of George W. Bush, especially the Iraq war and the War on Terrorism. But they criticized former President George W. Bush for being insufficiently conservative on issues including immigration and affirmative action. The blog advocated the nomination and confirmation of judicially conservative judges during the Bush administration and regularly features analysis of court decisions. Power Line often vigorously criticizes Democrats and liberals for dishonesty, lack of morals, bad judgment and disloyalty to the United States. They occasionally attack Republicans for similar shortcomings, such as Senator John McCain for his position advocating the US should not "torture" suspected terrorists or "enemy combatants."

The Power Line authors believe the media suffer from systemic liberal bias because too many reporters and editors are partisan liberals. They frequently question the integrity of organizations such as Associated Press, the BBC, Reuters, and the New York Times, and the Washington Post. Power Line authors have repeatedly advocated criminal prosecution of CIA leakers and media outlets that publish national security information. They also frequently criticize the Star Tribune of Minneapolis, home to two of the Power Line authors.

... Power Line speculated that the Schiavo memo was most likely forged by Democrats as a political dirty trick. When the memo turned out to be written by a Republican aide, Brian Darling, Power Line acknowledged the revelation, but continued to criticize the mainstream media for depicting the memo as "a product of the party's leadership or had an official status."

... Power Line frequently criticizes former US President Jimmy Carter. They have called him a "nut" and said in a post about his actions regarding the Iraqi election in January 2005 that he is "on the other side".

Hinderaker later wrote that Carter "started aligning himself with America's enemies", citing the possibility that Carter asked the Soviet Union to expand Jewish emigration to help him in the 1980 Presidential election ...

Dishonest, bitter losers, who are just as dishonest and bitter when they're supposedly winners.

2. I'd call him Center Right

He wasn't even a Trump supporter

I'm not a Lawyer, (but I play a Gynocologist in my spare time). Law experts agree the Travel Ban is completely Lawful, regardless of what Candidate Trump says during a Campaign.

The President can Lawfully ban people with green eyes on alternating Tuesday's if he so wills it.

This is the worst sort of Judicial Whacktivism and Hawaii doesn't even take any refugees

This should be easily swept aside by DOJ

17. When federal judges get appointed to the bench for life

they can either be original constitutional jurists or go activist and rule not on law but on feelings. I think that if a federal district court judge's rulings are overturned by the appeals court three times, they should be removed. Same goes with appeals court judges.

4. This will continue indefinitely until Trump significantly ups the ante..........

Possibilities-

1) Abolish the Courts which are engaged in sedition and reconstitute them with new Judges or expand the current Benches to simply swamp the dem judges or formally strip these judges of jurisdiction or defund the Courts

2) Have the AG start criminal cases against the Clinton's, Obama's, Soros, et al using the RICO Laws to freeze their assets.

that clearly puts their politics ahead of the law needs to be impeached and removed.

repub judge gambit. I expect it had to do with blackmail and quiet threats against families.

The countries that actually produce terrorists are countries in which Trump owns real estate, which is why they're not on the list.

Much like the bible, those who flog the constitution most vigorously are those least conversant in what it says.

If you don't like the freedoms articulated within, then write a new one. Elsewhere.

Are you going to hold up a Constitution to protect you from the bullets?

You think they give a frog's fat azz about the Constitution?

You people better wake up. The Constitution is to protect us, not them. They have NO constitutional rights.

On the other hand, we have a "right" to protect ourselves from them.

You are so fucking worried about them. Do you have any children? You better start worrying about them first.

discriminating against those we regard as undesirable.

We have a recess coming up. I think Trump should recess appoint him, (and every other open position) and worry with the ratification of that nomination later.

Since part of the basis for these stays is "Trump said bad things during the campaign " we use that against her. Her statements during the campaign clearly show she can't rule without prejudice against Trump she should be disqualified from sitting in on any case involving the current president

We are facing asymmetrical warfare here. Something drastic and innovative is needed. Something along the lines of the method used by the nationalist USA President in the novel 'Caliphate'.

It's a Muslim ban, the same one Trump promised, but it exempts all the countries that actually have sent terrorists here because those are places that Trump owns property.

because he owns property there.

You know the rules of the game- Trump may have won the Electoral College, but he wasn't elected as a dictator, despite what Stephen Miller tells him. This issue will end up with the SCOTUS, as the Constitution provides.
