Does anyone else here use Firefox web browser?

I used to use it years ago but quit when it got all wonky. I hate using Google. I really have a problem with the way it filtered searches AWAY from any info on negative articles about Clinton during the primary. I'd have to use EI if I wanted to get a good clean search for what I was looking for. (Remember the Clinton Creature stooges who planted port on Sander's facebook pages? It wouldn't pull up any articles on that but EI would.) But EI is so easy to hack.

Would seriously appreciate suggestions or advice on Firefox.

1. I use Yandex which is Chrome based

and use DuckDuckGo as my default search engine.

The best of Chrome without the Google.

2. Opera is a great option

It's compatible with all the Chrome plugins, but doesn't have any of that Google spyware shit in it. Plus it also has a built in adblocker and a free VPN which will allow you to use websites which might otherwise be geoblocked from your location.

As far as the search engines go, Duck Duck Go is a good one. Startpage is another. Can't remember the last time I used Google for a search.

3. I think you're confusing the browser with the search engine

I use Firefox browser due to the speed it loads, the wealth of add-ons that customize the user experience and because in isn't Microsoft's.

Firefox uses its own homepage for the default search engine, but that's configurable. Any search engine can be set as the default.

Any browser you like will allow you to customize the search engine you want to use. You'll find the option under settings or preferences.

Best of luck A.

I gave up messing around with stuff. I downloaded Firefox but I hate how you have to deal with bookmarks.

Back to Google I am.

9. I meant to say thank you before this. I apologize.

I started out years ago on Netscape and loved it. I thought it was gone.

After all the mess I made the other day trying to fine tune stuff, I figure I should just leave well-enough (?) alone.

11. Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. (given the windows 95 wallpaper in the graphic)

Netscape itself stopped releasing browsers years ago. But Netscape was always built around a Mozilla core, so Firefox is pretty much the evolution of Netscape. Mozilla had a product called "Seamonkey" for a while which was the literal rebranding of the old Netscape suite (the browser/email client/HTML editor combo) but it fell way behind Firefox on the update schedule, and Mozilla has officially disowned it, though it is still being maintained independently.

He and his friend was over at the house and saw how much difficulty I was having using Explorer. I get constant errors that Internet Explorer has stopped working.

10. I downloaded it but I hate the way it deals with bookmarks. Did you switch?

After diddling with Firefox for a while I had it so fouled up that I went back to Google. Maybe I'll get brave (or bored) and give it another stab. Messing with setting always, well almost always, gets me in trouble.

I used it years ago and it would quit working on me, so I switched.

I meant to say thank you before this. I apologize.

13. No, I did not download Firefox yet

It seems like a radical thing to do. Maybe I'm just chicken

14. Good luck. I already uninstalled it. But I have to admit the problems were probably due to me

trying to 'tweak' stuff.
