ftom the replies to red in this thread and others

many of you shovel snow, cut grass, work on cars, elder care, reload ammo, spend the weekend on the range while working high pay high pressure jobs while raising families and continuing your education.

no wonder meth is epidemic in red states!

seriously, i salute you. i've done all those things except shovel snow and meth.

but a reminder, old age will hit. those children who help with the chores will move away to their own high pressure lives, you will move slower and it will hurt.

1. Again with the stereotypes

Why does lefty presume that ONLY illegal immigrants provide any of those services? Also, you guys keep implying that because employers will have to pay more that those industries will take a hit. Does this mean you are advocating folks to work under the table and thus avoid paying taxes?

2. no. i do not agree with red on this one

i think that americans can, and will, do any job that needs doing, but we must be paid commensurate to our efforts. that is not true of illegal immigrants who can be turned over to authorities (or disappear in the field) if they do not accept conditions dictated by their employers.

4. Alert stalked

I, (underline) I, understand humor, for the most part anyway.

And so I will just say blue states have heroin problems in much bugger proportions. Go take a walk around Seattle but make sure you're not barefoot, you're liable to step on more than one used needle.

As far as your attempted joke though, for the most part it gets cooked here to be redistributed back to you all, and dealers who use thier own product tend to weed themselves out of the market.

5. its a "tier one" alert

it means i may have proved my point, which has more to do with old age than drugs.

i live in the inner city. those kids driving by to buy drugs are mostly suburban.

6. There is no doubt that suburban kids go to the inner city to get drugs

Brad and Muffy wouldn't want to be spending their parents money getting nothing but the best.

7. it is my understanding that those little darlings don't know "the best,"

or even what is good for them.

new subject - the police know where this business is done and who is doing it. why is it allowed? never mind. i'm sure if i knew the answer they would have to kill me.

9. I've wondered the same thing

It's kind of like this local dive around here, the Alrosa Villa, various rock bands play there, it's where Dime Bag Darrell was killed by a loopy fan, security has definatly been raised because of that but that place has a schedule that is followed, the band never comes on until around 12:15, 12:30 AM, enough that the encore will always be during last call for alcohol.

Looking at the parking lot of this place there is only a right or a left you can make out of it, with only one entrance with which to do that, from there you have a good half mile or so either way to find another side street or freeway that will do you any good at all.

I know exactly how many falling down drunk and one eyball watchers of the road on the way home fall out of there around 2:30, not all of course but a lot. I came to the conclusion there must be a kick back of some sort going on for them not to be just lining the road there on Sinclair ave waiting to give everyone they come in contact with a place to stay for the night, and a bologna sandwich to go with their DUI ticket.

10. Actually, that's not true

West Virginia has the highest overdose rate, and Washington is below average. It's quite a mix of red/blue states across the spectrum.

11. It's a nation wide problem for sure

I'm not trying to make light of it but I just wanted to throw seattle out there because their problem is huge, even though the left claim to have all the answers and will always pull out the hillbilly redneck card when needed for a quick jab at what people are doing out in the red states for fun as if they don't have the exact same problems.

12. I'm 55. I already move slower, and it already hurts. I don't let that stop me.

I'm wondering what problem you have with people claiming to be self-sufficient. Or people being self-sufficient and making no claim whatsoever.

So what that I'll grow old? When I'm no longer able to do the things I do today I'll get someone to do them for me (the things I can't do that need to be done). And believe me, there will be someone to do them. Of that I am certain.

I don't need to be saluted, but I thank you for it.
