Life is good

We just returned from a nice dinner engagement with my step-daughter and grandson. We met at Martin's Barbeque Joint for some pulled pork, chicken wings with Alabama white sauce, and a pint(s) of Black Abbey beer. Good stuff, one and all.

This was my first visit to the 4th Avenue store. The place was jumpin', but we got there pretty early and avoided the crush. We ate on the lower level where the conversation in the room is a bit quieter enabling us to hear the music playing in the great room. In the musical entertainment mix was a bit of a treat for us because it sparked some pleasing memories of my years living in the southwest and Dad's small music collection. Particularly, the late Marty Robbins singing his composition El Paso. A really good tune from the Gunfighter Ballads and trail songs album that has been covered by other artists including the Grateful Dead although no one performs it like Marty.

And this bonus selection, Big Iron.

This is my only submission tonight so, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

1. Nice. We typically eat at the one in Nolensville. Pretty good stuff.

Glad you had a nice time "out" with family.
