Any Tarot readers here? Can you read yourself?

Or pendulum, runes, or any other type of divination?

Check in!

I found that I cannot objectively read myself through divination. Only premonitions/dreams, which they do come true, but I can't use divination on myself.

Do you experience the same issues?

1. I played around with them

Many years ago.
I actually did fairly well but after a really bad incident I want nothing to do with them.

2. What happened?

Can you share what happened?

Tarot is not really a gateway ( like ouija board) for out of this world enteties. You can as well flip a coin, it's still divination, when it comes down to it.

So what happened??

3. You shouldn't read yourself

It should always be done by an second person who is not "attached" to you. As you study the art, the reason for this will become clearer.

Blessed Be.

6. It's not clear, as the same cards literally fell" out of the deck 2 times,

After I drew them in a 3 card draw.

I don't get it. We can have premonitions, feelings about a situation, what is going to happen, but we can't read the tarot on ourselves?

I think there is something more to the tarot than what I previously thought. It may not be just a divination tool.

It may be that whose symbols/images hold a much stronger power than we (at least I) realize.

5. I am of course not pewrsonally qualified to comment on this but

someone close to me is and she said:

Often the desire to read for oneself is motivated by hidden or not so hidden desires to make our life circumstances better or to use power to avoid or improve our circumstances and that is not appropriate"

Personally I do not know. I just know enough about the human condition to know that most of what we do is based on desire or basic need not altruism and that all science or if we do not understand how it works we call it magic is invented to shape our world to our desires...

7. Could be, if you look at it from the outside.

But realistically, we all try to or make changes to our life on daily basis.

It is not like we walk around preprogrammed, which also could be a possibility ( that should be a thread of its own)

Most species do seek to make changes and better than life. Even viruses do, by continuous mutations. It's life.

I still don't get what is so powerful about the tarot , that you can literally pull the same cards over and over again, or if you don't, they fall out of the deck , same position too, to boot!

Very odd.

8. Of course we do

but i think her point was that using a "higher power" of "magic" to do so was unfair..it took the balance out of the universe, like i said as card carrying atheist i am hardly qualified to comment from personal experience

9. The universe itself is unbalanced.

How does anyone justify little innocent babies dying of hunger or thirst? Or animals, starving to death. Being born, only to die, minutes later..

In the meantime, any asteroid could kill everyone and everything in a matter of hours.

What exact balance were they speaking of? Lol

10. Tarot cards do not do anything.

It's the same as crystal balls or palmistry or horoscopes.
Generalized statements that can have a meaning for anyone. Reading for yourself will just get you the same thing only now you will have a personal bias and reason to make it happen or stop it from happening.. if it happens it was the cards.. if it doesn't happen the cards were still right, you just changed it for the better since you knew it was somethjng bad was going to happen so it's still seen as the cards actually work.
They don't. It's impossible for pieces of paper or cardboard with pictures on them to predict any events..
It's all been tested and debunked numerous times.

12. yes.. I saw that. .

I think I even posted it here.
None of them could pick their personal reading.
Another experiment they gave everyone a horoscope and asked how accurate it was..
most people said it was accurate for them.
then they were asked to switch horoscopes with the person behind them and bring the back to the front and read that one..
They were all the exact same horoscope. The statement are so ggeneral.like..

You are a kind person but are having a hard time keeping it in and you feel like you want to lash out..
You feel you aren't living up to your potential...

Shit like that
