the most-watched program in CNN's history.

Wednesday's prime time GOP debate averaged 22.9 million viewers, making it the most-watched program in CNN's history.
--------------

For comparison's sake, CNN's most-watched presidential primary debate before Wednesday was a Democratic debate on January 31, 2008. It had an average of 8.3 million viewers.

-----------------------

These are NFL-level ratings -- affirming that the Donald Trump fueled Republican debate slate is one of the most popular television shows of the year.

CNN's debate was slightly lower-rated than Fox's GOP face-off one month ago in Ohio.

Prediction: Far far fewer people will watch the Democrat debate because no-one is really interested in what liberals have to say.

1. Watch the Queen Hillary show? The most amusing part of THAT will be the aftermath as some...

... Dems try to say, "What SHE REALLY meant to say is..."...

7. Nah the Dem brand is shot to shit. Better to be horrible than boring.

Hate can convert to love in a moment but indifference lasts forever.

5. The Roman Coliseum was packed as well. They came to see the carnage, killing, and rich

Republicans sitting in the expensive seats.

GOP debates are about the same.

10. Huh?!? Cannot grasp whatever it is that you are trying to say. My point was that spectacles of

violence and other disgusting behavior (which describes republic political philosophy perfectly) do draw audiences just like the gladiator games in ancient Rome, car wrecks on the interstate, and video of the many natural and man-made disasters that plague us from time to time.

I love FICTIONAL disaster flicks, the more extreme the better. I love to see us mere humans put in our place by Mother nature, aliens, or any other force.
But I draw the line at real-life tragedy.
Unlike conservatives, I cannot even stand to look at pics or vids of people suffering.
I could not look at that video of the drowned Syrian child - though it was used as fodder by conservatives who attacked the family.
I have never looked at film of the natural disasters that hit all over the world - far too many people seem to get off on viewing and sharing those types of "snuff" footage where real people suffer real hardship, destruction, and death.
I even refuse to watch video of killer cops murdering some unarmed civilian, even though that not-uncommon-anymore SOP fits my worldview of the negative impact of out-of-control law "enforcement" personnel.

Guess that hippie youth just will not wear away and leave me as heartless as those who love to swim in the cesspool of disasters and negativity.

12. WTF? You wrote it. watch rich Republicans sit in expensive seats. You need to get out more

dude.

The world isn't always a pretty place, sticking your head in the sand or hiding under the covers doesn't make the world go away.

17. I am all-too-aware of the ugliness and subhuman philosophy at the core of conservative ideology.

I have lived through decades of regressive rule that has worsened almost every aspect of life for most of us.

I do not need nor want to expose myself further to the filth that spews from that gang of thugs and criminals.

What I cannot understand is how other who share my liberal perspective can be "entertained" by watching such a disaster unfold. It is like watching a group of rapists plan their next attack on the children they love to target.

I guess some do like to view that kind of snuff porn.

11. Prediction: far fewer people will watch the dem debates

because it's far less entertaining to watch grownups talk to each other about grownup stuff.

We watch yours so we can point and laugh.

14. In other words, it will be very boring and uninspiring with Democrat candidates

stepping over themselves to say how Black Lives Matter more to them than anything in the world, and how wonderful are country would be if we had more muslim immigrants.

15. There, there.

Don't you worry, "are" debates won't take up too much time. Before you know it, the grownups will be finished talking, and you can get back to Dancing with the Stars.

16. I actually am looking forward to the disruptions from BLM and the expressions of shame

and white guilt from your pathetically weak geriatric candidates. That will be good for a laugh or two before the debate returns to unimaginable boredom and intolerable whining.
