Truth About The Navy versus Iran Affair

You can read all the stories and listen to the reports, but here are two stories that get right down to the nitty gritty of the entire affair. To heck with the fact that Iran screwed with their GPS systems – and them stole them while they had the boats. Here's what it's really all about.

Navy Downgraded To ‘Regional Force For Good’ @ http://www.duffelblog.com/2016/01/navy-regional-force-for-good/

Followed by the insightful, Sailor Spent Months Learning To Blink Morse Code, ‘Kind Of Pissed’ He Didn’t Get To Use It @ http://www.duffelblog.com/2016/01/sailor-learned-blink-morse-code/#ixzz3xF16p2Ot

So, just forget the lack of action on the part of our POTUS and Secretary of State. Just know that our boys in Navy blue are out there for you – as much as their Rules of Engagement will allow them to be.

3. Sad Truths

I posted it for the humor value. Sadly, there is a horrid story of what our military has been degraded to under Obozo. They couldn't even use their weapons to fend off a boarding party.

13. Plus violating international laws Iran is signatory to.

1. NO pictures of prisoners in a surrendered position.

2. No transmission of any apologoies.

4. A Little Less Kool-Aid, Please

So, just forget the lack of action on the part of our POTUS and Secretary of State.

You mean the "lack of" action where Kerry made a phone call and the sailors were released unharmed the next morning because Obama rebuilt diplomatic relations with Iran instead of bombing them into oblivion?

A clear thinker would realize that a peaceful return of the sailors would be preferable to the two countries firing at each other and killing those captured. It's odd to think that there are some who prefer hostile action to peaceful diplomatic results.

5. Well, cons only seem to know how to resolve issues through shooting

Kind of like isis only knows how to use violence to solve their problems.

Birds of a feather....

8. those pictures are not ones that any SANE person would call rendering aid to a disabled vessel

Holding US servicemen and women at gunpoint is an act of war.

9. Compare and contrast to the 2014 'situation' where Iran was sending ships into the atlantic

And just some of the comments from cons about what they thought we should be doing.

I would say Iran treated our folks a helluva better than cons wanted to treat them for just being in the Atlantic.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/01/21/iran-moves-group-of-warships-to-atlantic-ocean/

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Iran-Navy-warships-atlantic/2014/01/21/id/548025/

http://modernsurvivalblog.com/terrorism-war/irans-dry-run-for-a-nuclear-emp-attack-on-east-coast/

and on, and on, and on. Just google 2014 iran ship off US coast. Not even in our waters and cons were freaking out. Now imagine you are a con fundie in a place like Iran and US ships all up in there.

21. Wow what you call freaking out

sane, rational, minimally intelligent people call being cautious and prudent!

I would hate to see what you call what sane people would say is 'freaking out"

Besides what do you think about your new buddies breaking International law?

22. Ok

So place yourself in the position of being in Iran.

Ship comes into your water. What do you do? Compare that to what cons want to do when a ship from Iran enters our water.

Compare and contrast.

would do, why don't you tell what I would do if I were POTUS and an Iranian ship entered our waters.

23. Well, duh.

Do you think I agree with all of his bombings?

Nope. Does that mean I think he is x/y/z? Nope.

Cons want more and more bombing. It is about degrees of things.

I sure as heck don't believe everything Obama has done is good - do you think everything Bush did was awesome?

7. When our Navy helps others we dont make them surrender.

Were these ships "having mechanical trouble" like the story said in the beginning? If so, the Iranians could have pulled alongside and assisted. Or were they "seized"?
Either way, Iran was looking for a good opportunity to embarrass the US. Hey, they got it!

15. it seems like just yesterday that we were declaring to the world that Turkey had the right to defend

Her borders and if that means shooting down a bomber that might have crossed a border for only seconds it was alright in DC and NATO.

"President Obama spoke on the telephone Tuesday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and expressed the United States' and NATO's support for Turkey's right to defend its sovereignty, the White House said in a statement. "

"As we have repeatedly made clear, we stand in solidarity with Turkey and support the territorial integrity of our NATO ally, Turkey," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said after an emergency meeting of the 28-nation defense pact."

Our bullshit and hypocrisy has no bounds

16. Are You Really Going to Claim

That if the US found a couple Iranian boats filled with Iranian sailors in US territorial waters saying that their navigation was down, they would just smile, give'em a hand, and send them on their way?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight!

17. First Iran would have to actually MAKE it this far.

But we've helped Russian ships in the past, among others, without making it a surrender.

I googled it and didn't find anything newer than WW II.

You should check out the links that Strange Luck supplied in post #9. Quite a different story than the one you're peddling.

29. Maybe if the US military and government kept their nose out of everyone else's business

and quit acting like the Team America World Police while they have entirely messed up the Middle East by supported the Wahabi Gulf Terrorism States that finance ISIS and Al Qaeda while at the same time causing the EU's largest refugee crisis since WW2......maybe.....just maybe....these sailors wouldn't have found themselves in that unfortunate situation in the first place.
