4. The article said that

the speed limit was lowered, but people still drive fast on that road, so I'm not sure what their request for a flashing light will do.

Especially if someone is drinking.

And guardrails...meh. Not always effective against speeders.

I've seen houses in this area that have gotten hit on a regular basis, and what those owners (or someone else) did was to place large (very large) boulders in front of the area most often hit.

Personally, I would put in concrete towers at least four feet high with iron bars inside of them. The kind sometimes seen in front of stores.

Kind of sad that they have to avoid a whole area of their own home because of idiots.

as long as they could only trigger on something over 1,000 lbs or so.

IOW, nothing that would harm a person or animal
