18 Fraternity Members Charged @ Penn State After Student dies during hazing.

` BELLEFONTE, Pa. — A Penn State fraternity pledge died after stumbling and falling several times with toxic levels of alcohol in his body and suffered for hours with severe injuries while his friends failed to summon help, authorities said Friday in announcing criminal charges against the fraternity and 18 of its members.

A grand jury investigation, aided by security camera footage from the Beta Theta Pi chapter house, found that fraternity members resisted getting help for 19-year-old Timothy Piazza before his death in February. The grand jury said their actions in some cases may have worsened his injuries.

"This is a very sad day for Centre County — it's been sad ever since we lost a child for reasons that are totally preventable. A child who just wanted to come to college here, who put his faith in Penn State," Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said.

Eight of the fraternity brothers and the chapter itself were charged with involuntary manslaughter. Other charges include aggravated and simple assault, evidence tampering, alcohol-related violations and hazing.

1. These assholes didn't call for help?

By doing that they killed this poor kid.

I'm glad they are charged, and hopefully do plenty of jail time.

3. IMHO,100% of all fraternities nationwide should be shut down permanently due to

the animal House culture, raping, hazing and bullying.

Parents pay a lot of money to send their kids to learn, not for this stuff that should be a relic of the 1950s or 1970s. (not to mention all drinking should be banned, isn't the drinking age 21, and most people graduate then.

and oh my, isn't Penn State the place where Jerry Sandusky was charged with multiple counts of sex abuse,
and where Joe Paterno was fired....

a quick search shows-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penn_State_child_sex_abuse_scandal

and how many kids in school these days in the USA are harassed, bullied, and some driven to suicide?
