1. it is misleading because all the circles are the same size and the lines the same weight

If the circles had areas proportional to the forces involved, and if the lines had weights proportional to the strength of the relationship, a number of the parties and interactions would be pretty minimal.

3. It would be nice to see each force's contributions

But I think the size or scope of their respective involvement is kind of irrelevant in that a civil war by definition shouldnt have 20 outside entities neck deep in another sovereign country

6. So true. our war had outsiders. It's the MSM establishment spin

Of the war that has me furious. Call it anything but what it is, a regime change.

4. Interesting that ISIS is called ISIL

ISIL translates to “Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.” The Levant is a geographical term that refers to the eastern shore of the Mediterranean -- Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel and Jordan.

Obama uses ISIL because he believes Syria, Lebanon, Palestine Israel and Jordan should all be controlled by ISIS.

7. They had to change it to ISIS because then it wouldn't make sense that ISIL went to Afghanistan.

Or anywhere else outside of the Levant. The CIA realized their mistake and rebranded them as a world wide terror group.

8. To me it is beginning to look more like a world war rather than a civil war. (n/t)

9. US Civil War as an example

US aided by UK, France, Canada, Russia, Italy (Garibaldi)

CSA aided by UK, France, Mexico to a certain extent (And some of the Indian Nations)

Few Civil Wars have no outside ties of one form or another
