FBI agent let Cheryl Mills & Huma Abedin walk away scot-free after lying to FBI

FBI agent Peter Strzok in the tank for Clinton campaign.

FBI agent Peter Strzok is now at the center of the Mueller special counsel investigation into Trump-Russia election collusion. On Saturday, a bombshell report revealed that last year, the FBI veteran agent exchanged anti-Trump text messages with his mistress who is also an FBI agent. Strzok was kicked off Mueller’s team over the summer, after the Justice Department’s inspector general discovered that he sent messages to FBI lawyer Lisa Page.

The mistress in question, Lisa Page, also worked on the Mueller team for a short time over the summer. Strzok’s wife (who he was cheating on), is an Securities and Exchange Commission attorney named Melissa Hodgman. She has a strong pro-Clinton bias, as her Facebook account reveals she is a member of groups called “We Voted for Hillary” and “Thank You Obama.” In August Strzok was removed from the Mueller team, and placed in the FBI’s human resources department. Mueller’s office had declined for months to comment on the personnel move.

On Monday it was revealed that Strzok was the FBI agent responsible for softening language that Comey used in his July 5, 2016 statement closing the Hillary Clinton investigation. Strzok edited a draft of Comey’s speech, swapping out the words “grossly negligent” (a term which has legal weight), with the softer phrase, “extremely careless.”

The Daily Caller is now reporting that Strzok was also the FBI agent who conducted the interviews with two Hillary Clinton aides accused of giving false statements about what they knew of the former secretary of state’s private email server. Neither of the Clinton associates, Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, faced legal consequences for their misleading statements, which they made in interviews last year with former FBI section chief Peter Strzok.

But another Strzok interview subject was not so lucky…………..

Ref: Top Clinton Aides Face No Charges After Making False Statements To FBI

I can buy the argument that an investigator may have political views but still conduct an unbiased investigation and enforce the rule of law fairly.

However when Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin can lie to the FBI and walk away scot-free while Flynn faces charges it sure appears there are two distinct rules of the law in our nation. One for the Clintons and their associates and one for Trump and his associates and other "little people" who are not part of the Swamp.

I have long suspected that the highest levels of our government are corrupt to the core and there does appear to be growing evidence that I am right. When the most powerful agencies in our nation are used as political weapons we no longer live in a well functioning representative democracy or constitutional republic. Some say we now live in a banana republic and I suspect they are right.

FBI’s baffling rescue of Hillary is turning America into a banana republic

Maybe FBI chief James Comey didn’t want to hand the 2016 presidential election to the erratic Donald Trump when he decided not to recommend any charges against Hillary Clinton for her insanely dumb and so obviously improper use of a private email server to receive top-secret documents as President Obama’s secretary of state.

Or maybe, in some odd way, this longtime gumshoe really believes that what Clinton did — sending and receiving sensitive information on a private and very hackable email account — isn’t so bad and thus doesn’t deserve to be addressed with even a slap-on-the-wrist charge like a misdemeanor.

Either way, by ignoring the findings of his agents — which have been documented on these pages, and which he documented in a bizarre press conference Tuesday — Comey has done his best to move rule of law in this country one big step closer to that of a banana republic.

Not that we as a nation weren’t well on the way to becoming a place where criminality hinges less on the facts than on emotions and, of course, politics. Think of all those post-financial-crisis insider-trading cases against alleged fat cats later overturned for lack of evidence, and also the pass given to certain Wall Streeters who did some really bad things but, luckily for them, had ties to the Democratic Party.
