1. I have been predicting Issac will end up in the Gulf of Mexico and become a ...

BIG problem for the last week.

Hopefully I am wrong and if that happens it doesn’t end up over my house in Florida. Hurricane Irma did that last year. Lost a couple of windows and a pecan tree. Fortunately Irma was barely a cat 1 storm when it passed over my area of Florida.

2. fujiwhara effect

isaac will be interacting with florence and with the yet unnamed system now headed toward texas. i am not sure if or how much the spagetti models take the fujiwhara effects into consideration, but i think this will influence isaac towards the north.

3. From the link...

When cyclones are in proximity of one another, their centers will begin orbiting cyclonically (counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere) about a point between the two systems due to their cyclonic wind circulations.

- - - - - - - -

The distance between the two is greater than 1200 miles and Isaac would have to virtually reverse course to even think of orbiting cyclonically with Florence, which, in any event will be little but a heavy rain event in a couple more days...
