EV Landslide Winner, President Donald Trump, dismantles Pharmacy Gag Clauses

Trump signs bills banning pharmacy 'gag clauses'

President Trump has signed two bills into law to block insurers from enforcing “gag clauses” that forbid pharmacies from telling customers about how they can pay less for drugs.

The Patient Right to Know Drug Prices Act and the Know the Lowest Price Act are intended to help patients find out whether a prescription would cost less if they were to pay for it out of pocket rather than through their health plans.

“Our great citizen deserve to know the lowest prices available at our pharmacies and now that is what they are getting,” Trump said at the White House.

Trump had called for the bills to be passed as part of his administration’s larger commitment to reduce prescription drug costs for patients, and the bills had moved easily out of Congress.

"If there's anything bipartisan, it's lowering drug prices," Trump said, adding that signing the bill representing him delivering on his healthcare promises.

The first measure applies to people who are covered by private health insurance and goes into effect immediately. The second measure applies to patients who are covered by Medicare, the government program for adults 65 and older and for people with disabilities, and goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2020.

The “gag clauses” had forbidden pharmacists from telling customers when they could save money by paying the lower cash price instead of the price that had been negotiated by a health insurance plan.

3. So paying more for drugs

is OK with you Gram-negative? If Ocare is so great then why are the drugs more costly when using OCare insurance?

Come on G4A, I'll bet you're at least a little bit smarter than you sound -- amiwrong?

6. without a doctor, who is going to write the prescription? trump's plan is to have no doctors who

will write it unless one has the junk insurance plan. It is phony. And cost regressive.

But feel free to use it.

trumpfatigue strikes again.

it's not like one can pick out a piece of bubble gum (and as Better Call Saul showed, bubble gum is a funny thing isn't it?)

it's as phony as the Republican plan to privatize the USPO Best thing to do would be to ban fedex and
the private companies as they are horrible and then whine to the PO to help them.

8. No, Trump's plan is to allow people to CHOOSE what insurance they want

not be forced into some government mandated insurance.

I'm a 59 year old male. The chances I'll ever need gender changing surgery is between zero and none. Why should I be forced to pay for insurance I don't need? I don't need birth control. I don't go to the doctor every time I get a sniffle. All I want is catastrophic coverage. Why should I be forced to pay for some government mandated be-all end-all insurance I don't want?

I pay for my own insurance out of my own pocket. Up until Obamacare I had a bare bones catastrophic insurance which suited my needs. Since Obamacare I no longer have medical insurance because
I can no longer afford it! I have enough money to be self-sufficient and it's enough that I don't qualify for any subsidies. I'm not a poor person because I've always saved from my earnings as I worked over the years. I am now penalized for being financially responsible and it now leaves me with NO healthcare insurance.

I take heart medication. I pay for it 100% out of my own pocket every month. Things like what Trump did help me since Obamacare has priced me out of the insurance market.

FUCK OBAMACARE!

5. wow. I recently saw a man interviewed who was helping his mother on SS w/her prescription drug costs

Through her "insurance" she was paying $125/month for drugs he discovered he could purchase online for $60/month. This is ok with you, Graham?

The interview stayed focused on the $65/month she'd been losing. When one of the journalists went off script raised the question of how much she was paying for this "insurance," insinuating that was the bigger loss, they cut him off.
