Popular Science: Organic Cat Food is Safe for Furloughed Feds to Eat for Dinner

Science Based Truth....

Dawn Jackson Blatner, a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association. ".... I'm fully confident that your body can handle kitty chow."

Actually, the ingredients listed on the organic blends of cat food sound pretty tasty. Newman's Own canned beef formula uses only free-range beef from Uruguay, is 95 percent USDA-certified organic, and is chock-full of vitamins. Pass me a spoon, right? "Those are better," Blatner says....."

Peace Out.

1. Reminds me of a joke....

Yesterday I was buying 2 large bags of Purina dog chow at WalMart for my dogs Shadow and Lady.

I was about to check out when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think, that I had an elephant?

Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told her that No, I didn't have a dog - that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time.
On the bright side though, I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.
(I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)

Horrified, She asked : "Did you end up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned you?"

I said: No not at all; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to lick my ass and a car hit me.

The guy behind her was laughing so hard, I thought he was going to have a heart attack!

WALMART won't let me shop there anymore.

2. The other week I had to buy a new alternator for my truck.

I walked into the parts store, alternator in hand; the clerk said, "Do you need a new alternator?"

I replied, "Naw, this one works great. I need you to sell me the rest of the parts for the truck to go around it."

3. These "organic" foods for dogs and cats are NOT for dogs and cats

They are for stupid owners who THINK their dogs' and cats' tastes and systems want the same thing as humans.

You might notice that in the last year or so, the commercials for these gourmet pet foods mumble "although our product does not provided any more nutrition that the competing brands" (or something like that, competitor being Purina of course) WE HAVE REAL MEAT AND VEGGIES.

Veggies just pass through dogs and cats with zero nutritional value.

Dogs and cats EAT THEIR OWN VOMIT for God's sake -- and enjoy it and get some nutrition from the unprocessed aspects.

I am not a vet but I have had cats and dogs for 45 years. I have talked with vets and the biggest problem with mass-produced pet food is ash content. The slightly more expensive food does a better job of balancing but note it doesn't look like human food.

7. My dogs food is more expensive than my food.

3 pounds for $27. I can get a Costco chicken for $5
