On this one, i agree with Lefty

“I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants. … “We’ve got to do more at our borders. And people have to stop employing illegal immigrants.” – Hillary Clinton, 2003.

“We have to send a clear message, just because your child gets across the border, that doesn’t mean the child gets to stay,” the former secretary of state said. “So, we don’t want to send a message that is contrary to our laws or will encourage more children to make that dangerous journey.” - Hillary Clinton – 2014 – Newsweek

"I'll tell you what we can't have, it's these parents sending their kids here on a dangerous journey and putting their lives at risk." – Barack 0bama, 2015

"Those who enter the country illegally and those who employ them disrespect the rule of law, and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law. We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented (and) unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants in this country." – Sen. Barack 0bama, 2005

The American people are fundamentally pro-legal immigration and anti-illegal immigration,” Schumer explained at the conference. “We will only pass comprehensive reform when we recognize this fundamental concept.”
“The following seven principles are all based on this concept and comprise what I believe to be the framework for a bill that can receive overwhelming and bipartisan congressional support,” he said.
“First, illegal immigration is wrong, and a primary goal of comprehensive immigration reform must be to dramatically curtail future illegal immigration.” – Chuck Schumer - The Daily Caller – September 2017

"Our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens." - President Clinton, SOTU address, 1995

"We need to start by giving agencies charged with border security new technology, new facilities and more people to stop, process and deport illegal immigrants." - Sen. Barack Obama, 2005

"If making it easy to be an illegal alien isn't enough, how about offering an award to be an illegal immigrant. No sane country would do that, right? Guess again." – Senator Harry Reid, Senate floor, 1993

"In approaching immigration reform, I believe we must enact tough, practical reforms that ensure and promote the legal and orderly entry of immigrants into our country." - Sen. Obama, Senate floor, 2007

"We all agree on the need to better secure the border, and to punish employers who choose to hire illegal immigrants." - Sen. Obama, 2005

"All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public services they use impose burdens on our taxpayers." - President Clinton, SOTU address, 1995

"We will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes, to better identify illegal aliens in the workplace." - President Clinton, SOTU address, 1995

"I continue to believe that we need stronger enforcement on the border and at the workplace. And that means a workable mandatory system that employers must use to verify the legality of their workers." - Sen. Obama, Senate floor, 2007

"If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with U.S. citizenship and guarantee full access to all public and social services this society provides -- and that's a lot of services. Is it any wonder that two-thirds of babies born at taxpayer expense (in) county-run hospitals in Los Angeles are born to illegal alien mothers?" - Sen. Harry Reid, Senate floor, 1993

"Right now we've got millions of illegal immigrants who live and work here without knowing their identity or background." - Sen. Obama, 2005

"If only everyone (in the Middle East) could be like Scandinavians, (achieving peace) would all be easy." - President Obama, 2016

"We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it." - President Clinton, SOTU address, 1995

"Let me repeat: We need strong border security at the borders." - Sen. Obama, 2005

We just don't support Trump's wall or nothing demands.

13. Exactly what active legislation do the democrats have to stop illegal immigrants?

Nada, nothing, zipo, not one damn thing.

There are thousands of rapes each month by the Coyotes and a significant but uncounted number of murders.

The Democrats have zero proposals, ideas, or active legislation to stop these horrendous crimes.

By strict and actual definition, the democrats tacitly support these rapes and murders.

Period.

Look it up and educate yourself.

15. That active legislation is House Joint Resolution 1

The Pelosi House passed JR 1 as a continuing resolution (CR) to provide funding to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and related agencies through February 8. This CR does not provide any funding for a wall on the Mexican border.

The DHS could have essentially the same level of funding they had during the first 2 years of Trump's presidency. So they could have been using that money right now to fight all those foreign murders and rapists just as effectively as they did while Republicans had majority control of the House.

But McConnell refuses to take up JR 1 or any other spending bill in the Senate because Trump said he would veto them all unless $5B or so is included for his wall.

17. Border Patrol Staffing At Nine-Year Low, Despite Trump's Anti-Immigration Talk

According to statistics from CBP, the number of border agents nationwide nearly doubled between 2003 and 2013, from 10,700 to 21,300. The number of agents peaked that year, and staffing levels began to fall as Border Patrol struggled to hire and retain agents.

https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/border-issues/2017/12/08/cato-institute-report-calls-freeze-hiring-border-patrol/853777001/

According to statistics from CBP, the number of border agents nationwide nearly doubled between 2003 and 2013, from 10,700 to 21,300. The number of agents peaked that year, and staffing levels began to fall as Border Patrol struggled to hire and retain agents.

In the first half of 2018, the Border Patrol hired nearly double the number of agents it brought on in the same period of 2017.

But the new hiring wasn’t enough to keep up with departures. In 2017, the Border Patrol posted a net loss of nearly 400 agents.

https://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny-news-border-patrol-losing-staff-20180706-story.html

A report, also released last week, by the Government Accountability Office found that as of May 2017, the Border Patrol had failed to meet its current hiring quotient and had 1,900 fewer agents nationwide than authorized. During fiscal years 2011 through 2016, Border Patrol was statutorily required to maintain a minimum of 21,370 full-time agent positions, according to the GAO report. As of May 2017, Border Patrol had about 19,500 agents. The report also said the agency had lost more agents on average (904) each year than it hired (523) from fiscal years 2013 to 2016.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-border-patrol-doesnt-know-what-to-do-with-the-thousands-of-agents-trump-wants-to-hire/

The Border Patrol employed only 19,437 agents under Trump in fiscal year 2017—nearly 2,000 short of a Congressional mandate that the force have a minimum of 21,370 agents—and the lowest numbers since the final year of the George W. Bush administration, when 17,499 agents were on staff, Customs and Border Protection data shows.

That means that for all its anti-immigration rhetoric, the Trump administration deploys fewer border patrol guards than at any time during the Obama administration. The agency’s fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 30.

18. First like a middle schooler you still failed to answer the question

Second you just supported how badly we need a wall on our southern border.

You listed everything that has not worked, but we all know that they wall works great for Israel.

So why don't we do what works and tell lefty to put it where the sun does not shine.

It is national emergency time because the left has no clue and no answers.

The left has not, will not, and can not implement border security that is effective.

The democrats refuse to secure our southern border.

As you have pointed out so well the left only wants to continue what we already know does not work.

So answer my question, what does the left have going in congress that will secure our southern border?

20. That question ( what does the left offer ) was not directed to me.

As you are questioning what can be done to secure the Mexican border, trump intended to add border agents.

5000 additional agents was the trump goal by 2020.

That would make sense, to me anyway. Boots on the ground to do what needs doing.

If you look at the numbers, Bush increased the BP by 9000 agents. 9-11 had a big part in that.

Obama added 2000 more Border patrol agents.

Interception of illegals on the south border is at a 45 year low.

They will still need BP and more of them.

That's not to say a fence, a wall, a barrier isn't needed, but that's only part of the bigger picture.

Electronic surveillance and detection need to be part of the mix.

Particularly at ports and border crossings were the bulk of the drugs come in.

I had sign in my office, it read: YOUR failure to plan, is NOT my emergency.

Like it or not, trump had two chances to get his wall funding, with a majority of his party in Congress.

As far as I'm concerned, trump should just declare a SoE and go for it.

Other than that, I haven't seen what was offered to trump.

The discussion on funding for "the wall" depends on his signing the CR to get the shutdown finished.

400,000 Americans want to go to work, many are veterans.

400,000 are working without being paid, many are veterans.

As the federal Government is the largest employer of veterans, that's no way to treat them.

10. We absolutely need strong border security which includes

comprehensive immigration reform that includes a robust guest-worker component and makes it financially untenable to employ undocumented workers.

The wall isn't even a good place to start, hiring more border patrol and staffing the immigration courts to the required level should be step 1.
