Fixing the US Senator disparity in Large States and Small States.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton won 48% of the popular vote to Trump's 46%. Nearly 3 million more illegals voted for Clinton over Trump. Yet Trump captured 57% of the Electoral College vote to Clinton's 42%.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/10/opinions/we-could-be-headed-for-another-electoral-college-mess-alexander/index.html

What should be done, and do you support the concept that states with high populations, such as California, have a bigger representation in the US Senate than low population states like Wyoming. Currently, California has the exact same number of US Senators as Wyoming. When it comes to deciding Supreme Court Judges, small populations have the same vote as much larger populations. California has only 2 senators. It would be more fair if California had about 60 Senators when compared to Wyoming's population.

Having more Senators would also increase the number of electoral votes that States like California have, thereby avoiding popular vote and electoral vote controversy.

Would you support increasing the number of US Senators in states like California ???

I would support increasing the number of US Senators in large population states like California

I think small population states , like Wyoming, should have the exact same number of US senators

1. Every state should have only ONE vote to the E.C.

If we are going to start dicking with "The Great Compromise", then let's start back at the beginning. ONE STATE, ONE VOTE!

2. States, as sovereign entities, all have equal Senatorial say

It is an essential part of our system of Checks and Balances and is critical to prevent Tyranny of the Majority.

3. The Constitution, written by Geniuses, to Govern idiots

Not only should each State have 2 Senators

But they should be selected by the Governor as the Founders intended

5. Agreed

A big bonus would be that the Senators would not have to spend time raising money for their next election.

8. The US is a democracy and every vote should be counted, even illegal votes.

I think illegals should have a say in who the US President is, because they live here too. It is democratic to allow every person to have a say in how their community is run. I also am considering that every person who is old enough to have sex, be allowed to vote, so maybe everyone who has reached puberty be allowed to vote.

This new voting law should be created because every person's opinion should be converted into a vote.

Now THAT would be democracy in action!!

Peace Out!!

12. The US is not a Democracy

and there is no disparity in the number of senators. Each state gets two. Period.

(Unless you think you can push an amendment through the small states.)

16. Your view is why Athens lost its ass

Pure Democracy is just the oppressive rule of the masses. A Republic is governed by laws and a Constitution like ours to protect the minority from the majority.

In a true Democracy if you get one more vote for than against to let's say castrate all black men that are alive and from birth then that law is good to go.

Pure Democracy is a very shitty idea and would lead to as many murders as Communism.

read the Constitution of the United States. The word Democracy cannot be found there. Don't like it, amend the Constitution.

6. There's no ''popular vote and electoral vote controversy'' except among snowflakes still crying over

"Having more Senators would also increase the number of electoral votes that States like California have, thereby avoiding popular vote and electoral vote controversy."

...Queen Hillary losing in 2016.

Why do you want California and New York to control who wins national elections?

Do you really want mob rule in this country??

14. The House gets its number

Of representatives through population. The Senate was never meant to be representative of the states population.

They were until the horrible decision to repeal the 17th amendment elected by the state legislature's then it made it a popular vote. That decision erased a very important check and balance.

This decision has done more to fuck up the country than any other one thing.

The House of representatives were there to support the will and concerns of the people. The Senate was a counter to the average idiot and meant to balance that out with will and concerns of the respective states.

The best thing we could do would be to return the election of Senators to the state legislature's and take it away from the people.

15. 2 Senators per state period, Congressmen can be adjusted for population

This plan would mean California and New York, Texas would run every election and decide every President and fuck the rest of the nations choices

20. Our founders had wisdom the left has no concept of.

The house is apportioned by population but they left the Senate at 2 per state! Why? To protect the small states from the tyranny of the large states!

In the peoples house small states are overwhelmed but in the Senate they get to have an equal voice-- I thought leftists were all about equality??? What has changed??
