Magic Mushrooms On Par With LSD Now Legal In Denver

Published time: 9 May, 2019 14:19

The city of Denver, Colorado, has become the first in the US to decriminalize ‘magic mushrooms’, however the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) still classes the psychedelic drug in the same category as LSD and heroin.

The public vote was narrowly passed and means the personal use and possession of psilocybin mushrooms by people aged 21 or older will be Denver’s “lowest law-enforcement priority.” The legal change is expected to take effect as soon as next year.

Psilocybin is a hallucinogenic chemical obtained from certain types of fresh and dried mushrooms. It has been federally illegal in the US since 1968, and is classed by the DEA as a ‘Schedule 1’ substance along with heroin and LSD.

Officials with the DEA office in Denver told NPR they still consider psilocybin to have “no accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” However studies by medical researchers have shown the substance is not addictive, rarely results in hospital visits, and can be used to treat people with anxiety, depression, PTSD and OCD.

Last year the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted psilocybin “breakthrough therapy” designation.

4. And really accounts for his circumstances.

Powerful introspective phases during and after, intense family emotional discernment that can last for days, weeks, or longer, typically without sleep.

No one sleeps when they drop acid or eat shrooms, (the high comes from your body telling you that you are, in fact, being poisoned.)

The prisons and mental hospitals are full of people who take these drugs for kicks.

10. Do whatever drugs you want. They should all be legal.

But I would rather smoke some weed or relax on one or two 325 mg painkillers than do the mind altering, cause you to hallucinate drugs like mushrooms or meth. Those kinds of drugs scare the shit out of me.

I bet there are a fare number of people in prison because that sign they thought they were fixing with a hammer was really a person they were murdering. Or that dragon they were riding was really them in a car running someone down.

No thanks on that shit. I’ll stick to the ones that get you high while still having control.

11. Microdosing on hallucinations has become quite the fad in the younger business

world. Increases focus and productivity.

I trust the naturals but in this day and age wouldn't touch the chemically produced stuff.

9. As a young lad I sat in a Denver restaurant while my aunt tried to get me to taste beer.

The waitress scolded my aunt, telling her beer was illegal to give to minors.

How things have change in Colorado. Nobody ever heard about pink haired psychos shooting up schools or movie theatres also.

13. Here's what I think about this:

Corpus delicti: (fact of injury -and- loss or harm)

In all criminal cases there must exist a corpus delicti (American jurisprudence).

Question: Where's the corpus delicti here?

14. Did you watch Perry Mason last night? Perry invoked corpus delicti for his client.

I love Perry right before bed...
