Louisianas Governor Signs 'Heartbeat' Abortion Bill Into Law. He's a Democrat.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2019/05/31/louisianas-democratic-governor-signs-abortion-ban-into-law-n2547156
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Louisiana’s Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards angered members of his own party on Thursday when he signed a ban on abortions once a heartbeat is detected.

"I call on the overwhelming bipartisan majority of legislators who voted for it to join me in continuing to build a better Louisiana that cares for the least among us and provides more opportunity for everyone," he said in a statement.

~~snip~~

Louisiana is now the fifth state to enact a law banning abortions once a heartbeat is detected, joining Ohio, Georgia, Mississippi, and Kentucky. Alabama’s law goes even further, outlawing nearly all abortions.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is not an aberration. This is a movement.
People are saying "NO" to the govt. Sounds like Freedom.

Huff dihydrogen difluoride for all I care.

What's at issue is what you do with other people's bodies. Cutting them up alive without provocation is rude. Knock it off already.

13. It is rude!!

I can't even kill a spider. I escort it outside. I "live trap" any mice that my cat hasn't gotten to. I cannot imagine how the dems have gotten to the place where they have no compassion for an unborn baby. Some of them want no restrictions at all to abortion, right up to delivery. Can't we just agree that at least at viability, an abortion is killing a person? Yet dems want NO limits, no restrictions.

14. Not only that.

Any attempt to limit abortion amounts to an act of violence against women.

I disagree strongly with Dems on many things, but I can usually at least get into the headspace to understand how they reached their viewpoints.

It sucks that some people don't have all the money they need to get by. Here are some people with extra money. Let's take from the rich and give to the poor.

Guns are very effective at the task of injuring or killing animals, including humans. That's usually a bad thing. Let's get rid of those.

Words have power, and some kinds of speech can have a profound negative impact on people. Let's ban those kinds of speech.

Again, none of these things are okay, but they're conclusions that a reasonable person might conceivably come to. They even seem to have a thread of consistency among them.

Abortion radically conflicts with any kind of reason or compassion. It's stunningly, unspeakably cruel.

19. Men cause 100% of pregnancies

Women are fertile approx. 2 days per month. Men are fertile 100% of the time. A man has to choose to ejaculate inside of a woman's vagina to get her pregnant. The onus should be on men to prevent abortion.

26. I believe that's an extremely flawed position.

Primarily because, at the time of conception, both partners are fertile.

But let's take your assertion at face value, and assign one hundred percent of the responsibility for any pregnancy to the male partner.

Does that then make it acceptable for any party to intentionally to end the life of a baby?

37. A woman will never find herself with an unwanted pregnancy

unless a man shows up and ejaculates irresponsibly. Men enjoying sex and having irresponsible ejaculations is what causes unwanted pregnancies and abortion.

Men often don’t know, and don’t ask, and don’t think to ask, if they’ve caused a pregnancy. They may never think of it, or associate sex with making babies at all. Why? Because there are 0 consequences for men who cause unwanted pregnancies.

If irresponsible ejaculations were putting men's balls at risk, they would stop being irresponsible. Does castration seem like a cruel and unusual punishment? Definitely.

But is it worse than forcing 500,000 women a year to puke daily for months, gain 40 pounds, and then rip their bodies apart in childbirth? Is a handful of castrations worse than women dying during forced pregnancy & childbirth?

Put a castration law on the books, implement the law, let the media tell the story, and in 3 months or less, tada! abortions will have virtually disappeared. Can you picture it? No more abortions in less than 3 months, without ever trying to outlaw them. Amazing.

If you think it's unacceptable to "intentionally end the life" of a fetus, why wouldn’t you be on board with having a handful of men castrated, if it prevented 500,000 murders each year?

38. Your reasoning lacks any and all sense of logic

The woman, not the man, is who knows when she is fertile.
The woman, not the man, is who allows penetration.

FFS, you act like women are helpless slot machines just sitting around waiting for people to stick things in them.

But ALL unwanted pregnancies are caused by the irresponsible ejaculations of men. Period.

23. A fetus is dependent for it's life upon the body of the woman.

A fetus isn’t it’s own separate entity until there is not longer a connection to the mother, i.e.- umbilical cord. It’s not an autonomous being; biologically it’s a parasite.

27. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a biologist who'd classify a preborn baby as a parasite.

If that's what you mean.

A slightly better analogy might be a symbiote, but either way, it's pretty inaccurate.

28. Nah, the preborn baby doesn't control the host/mother nor the other way around...

"A slightly better analogy might be a symbiote..."

...the pre-born baby is completely autonomous, unlike what "party of science" LG claimed, and it relies upon the mother for nutrients/oxygen/warmth/protection/shelter until it moves out.

A 6 week fetus is not a baby. Read a science journal. And parasite is a pretty accurate description.
