Iranian national found with knives on Flagler Memorial Bridge, Palm Beach police say

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach police are investigating after they say a man believed to be an Iranian national was found with several knives on the Flagler Memorial Bridge on Friday.

Police said the man had no known address and was detained by officers.

In addition to the knives, police said the man had an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency on him.

The police department said this is an open and active investigation.

5. There probably are local laws that dictate the types of knives that can be carried.

For example, in CT, knives with blades longer than 4" cannot be carried in public.

In Florida, knives come under concealed carry laws. You can generally posses and open carry any knife except ballistic knives. Concealed carry without a permit is limited to common pocket knives with blades of less than 4 inches, and they must be in the folded position.
