1. I have no problem with the Sikhs, they tend to be very loyal and patriotic Americans

The rest however, can go pound salt.

3. As an Air Force vet

I think this is long overdue and should not just be for religious reasons. The dress and appearance regulations were always too strict for no good reason.

Neat, clean, conservative, and out of way is fine. I get why they don't want you running around with three foot blue spikes but if a guy wants to grow a goatee or a girl is doing office work and wants to wear her hair down that day then there is nothing about this that would impact the mission. Now if your hair goes down to your waist and you are working in a machine shop yes you're going to need to put that up for safety.

4. Agree.

No religious headgear should be allowed in the US military.

9. Or any explicit clothing regularly worn by other cultures known for engaging in terrorism. We

do not need to facilitate their objectives by having our military dress like them so as to be indistinguishable from them. Are Liberals making us stupid?

11. Exactly.

It looks like we are kissing their ass by " accommodating " their religious headgear.

What happened to the division between Church and State ? .....It certainly should apply here.

I've never seen Jewish military personnel in full uniform running around with yarmulkas on their heads.....only the muslims are getting away with this shit.

7. Not even close precedent set in 1918 Acting Sgt Bhagat Singh Thind US Army

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhagat_Singh_Thind#/media/File:Bhagatsinghthind.jpg

In addition my first PSG in 1982 was a turban wearing Sikh at Fort Hood. SFC Paramjit Sibia retired as a CSM after 30 years service to America

how many YOU got JF6?

10. If, in a pinch, he can still get his helmet on over

his turban, then what’s the big deal? I cannot understand some of the things people get so upset over when it comes to the military. Do people think that the guy in the picture can’t love this country and be willing to fight and die for it because of something they wear on their head? And I’m no expert but I doubt there’s a big Sikh movement trying to bring down the US so I don’t see where religion is even relevant here.

This is no skin off anyone’s nose so why all the controversy?

12. Separation of Church and State.

There is NO need to have religious headgear worn in the US Military.

This is kissing muslim ass. Just like Pelosi made a " special exception " for Ilhan Omar to wear hijab in Congress.

I don't see any men dressed in US military uniforms wearing yarmulkas on duty, BTW.

13. Separation means not favoring one for another or any

soldiers allowed to wear crosses is the same thing

as for Yarmulkes How long you even Serve?

I used to see Chaplain Goldstein almost regularly at Fort Drum. He was an orthodox Rabbi and veteran of Grenada, Panama, Gulf War 1, Somalia, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq all wearing his yarmulke. He also served at Ground Zero in NYC when the towers came down. Last I saw he was a full Bird

14. Did it all the time...

I had 2 or 3 camo kippas I wore during certain holy days...

I do however see a lot of crucifixes and crosses on chains.

15. Christians DO NOT wear crosses on their heads...nor do they wear the cross on the outside of their

uniform.....unless they are a Chaplain or Priest.

So, you wore a kippa on Holy Days....that is a lot different than wearing one as your regular gear while in uniform.

19. There is no separation of church and state

That's left wing claptrap.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"
