Smoke 'em if ya got 'em. It will take some time.

5. Your attempt at an insult is amusing,

it is not a good substitute for a valid argument and makes you look even weaker.

It is also IMHO part of the reason the Democrat brand is dying.

You guys don't need voters, just keep lashing out.

That's the ticket.

15. no. means dems lost 1,000+ seats in the last 6 elections

and that gop holds Presidency, Senate & Congress and will soon hold SC.

And the dems are shitting their pants now because if Trump delivers on his most basic promises, they'll hold and possibly increase their majorities in 2018.

Hmmm...most basic promises:

kill TPP ✅
kill ACA ✅
jobs ✅

soon to come:
pause immigration
tighten immigration rules/checks
build wall
shrink H1B program

of course, they'd better move fairly quickly because otherwise it's dying on it's own. Better a planned and organized death than a chaotic, messy one.

than acceptable screening procedures.

Why are you so critical of President Obama?

13. Straw man. I didn't say there was no difference in what Trump and Obama did

In fact I'm not in favor of what Trump did or the way he did it.

I'm talking about WHICH 7 countries were identified for extra scrutiny by Obama first and then Trump.

Your link CONFIRMS what I said

Under the legislation, citizens of those 38 countries who had traveled to Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Sudan after March 2011 were no longer eligible for the visa waiver. Libya, Yemen, and Somalia were later added to the list.

21. where did I criticize Obama?

But since you've brought the subject of Obama up, I think an immigration ban (really, a pause) is infinitely preferable to dropping bombs -- 26,000+ bombs for 2016 alone -- any day of the week.

Obama inherited 2 shitty wars. Instead of ending them, he added 5 more. Hundreds of thousands of mainly Muslim deaths, multiple destroyed countries, millions of refugees and multiple newly spawned terrorist organizations later, Obama is still a Nobel Peace Prize winner and Trump is a racist, anti-Muslim xenophobe for wanting to pause immigration while rules are tightened in order to prevent us from turning into Germany and France.

What the goddam fuck?!?

23. You criticized the list of Muslim countries that Trump used because of issues with security review

in those countries.

It's the list of countries that the Obama Administration identified as having issues.

You're problem is with Obama's work to identify these countries.

Pretty simple A + B = C.

And yes, Obama's drone use, bombing, destruction of Libya and creation of an entire country for terrorist training there are something the left should be criticizing every day.

The first day after Trump was elected I heard NPR report on how despite unemployment being low, jobs don't pay enough so millions live in poverty ... stuff I hadn't heard them report for years.

I'm sure Cindy Sheehan and flag draped coffins will start to get coverage again. Probably the "collateral damage"
of drones as well.

And it should get covered, should have been covered for the past 8 years too.

only the countries and vast # of Muslims not affected in any way by Trump's so-called "Muslim ban"

28. I didn't criticize Trump's list

I said he left the vast majority of the world's Muslims off the list, ergo it's not a "Muslim ban." That's not criticism; it's fact.

Less than 3/10s of a % of the world's Muslims are affected by the ban. I can't say it any simpler than that.

How about your commentary on the entire statement?

How about this statement and the order, big picture?

29. that was in December '16.

not in January '17, when he wrote and signed the EO.

He looked closely at the situation, determined who hates us and why, and actually took action regarding the 7 countries we've been bombing the fuck out of for 8-15 years, and chose to leave out the 44 Muslim-majority countries we haven't been bombing.

36. why those seven countries were singled out...

http://www.discussionist.com/1014320295
The seven nations targeted by Trump in his immigration ban were originally identified in an anti-terrorism law signed by President Obama. Unlike other Muslim-majority nations that have a history of terrorism, these seven countries do not assist the U.S. in providing background checks and other vetting of immigrant applicants. Thus, it is not only “rational” to deny entry, it is imperative for the safety of Americans. The U.S. does not have the resources to properly vet all these individuals on its own.

the 0bama anti terror law identified those nations refusing to cooperate with background checks. that is why Trump singled them out and not the others.
