1. When I donate to any cause I care about.....

....it matters not to me how they use it.

That is how I view any donation.

10. So do you ask for a itemized receipt when you donate?

Pretty sure you don't and neither do I. It is a donation, once I hand it over to them it is spent money for me. I hope they do good with it and I believe that they will do good with it. I am not gonna get wrapped up in how much I donate to organizations and what they do with the donation on a micro level. Life is way too short for things like that.

Now if I see that in a public arena the orginazation(s) I have donated to in the past end up doing bad things, it is not like I can demand a refund. They just do not receive future donations from me.

A donation is not a contract for service, it is a donation.

13. no, i don't ask for a receipt...

but i will do research to determine what percentage of donations are actually benefiting the end recipient(s)...for example, if a charity is spending 75% of their budget on fundraising, i would never donate to that charity...

What percentage of donations should go to paying Donald Trump's fines?

3. If i donated a Thousand,

I would expect a Thousand to be spent on food, I at one time used to donate to the Police until I learned that only 10 cents went to actually help the officers.

You certainly provided no rebuttal, so the only remaining assumption is that I am correct and you hate old people who need food.

The RW posters on this board are absolutely convinced they are the smartest people on the planet. But, when you point out the total stupidity of their arguments, they're all, "Whuh???!!!"

Unreal.

And they think DUers are idiots.

Not many do so. I helped many I. Go Fund me. I just think community help is being killed by this anti "any help" whatsoever.". We all need help at some point.

I just wish people will wake up and realize we need health and stability here, at home. As priority..

As a volunteer to the Homeless Coalition, without breaking any HIPAA laws, I can tell you to think twice about how many illegals are homeless.

Just saying..

42. Not sure what this has to do with illegal immigrants.

Florida has a bunch of laws that dictate the legal and illegal ways to feed the homeless.
Granted that the laws don't make it as easy as it should be, to the point where it might be described as intended to discourage the feeding of homeless.
But there are still legal ways to do it.

30. Around 20 to 25%

That's a little less than the cost of food in the restaurant business, but MoW probably has extra costs associate with packaging it for delivery, coordination with clients, etc.

40. I would expect 80% to go to the food, prep, and delivery.

The remaining 20% to the running of the organization.

If that 20% gets to 40% or higher, there is probably a scam being run.

So, what is the actual percentages for Meals on Wheels?
