The 'unifying theme' of Democrats is apparently 'free stuff':

Unfortunately, there has to be a good number of Democrats out there hoping that Trumpcare
passes not only this Thursday but also eventually by the Senate in the near future. With 24 million about to lose coverage, and a large portion of those twenty four million coming from Red States, the Democrats will have a strong unifying theme for 2020

1. Being a Democrat I hope you're right about the idea that 24 million's losing coverage will get more

people to unite behind Democrats in 2020.

What do I post that makes you say I want to punish poor people? I don't need a specific examples, just your general impression.

17. Is the idea of wanting to 'punish' poor people the logical extension of resisting wealth

transfer? You gave 'punish' as your first and only option.

19. That didn't really answer my last question.

Here is where I stand on the issue: I LOVE helping people, and do*. I DESPISE though, being forced to do so under penalty of law for the purposes of gaining votes, or the approval of others.

Your reaction to my comments reveals your predisposition to believe 'charity' MUST be delivered via government bureaucracy. It doesn't.

*I just don't feel the need to 'virtue signal' it to complete strangers online in order to gain some sort of moral authority over them, or approval from them.

20. Don't be betting the farm on those analytical talents of yours, you'll die

hungry and homeless yourself. Which would be poetic justice on a stellar scale. And just going by your postings I think that your kindness extends as far as your own nose and not one millimeter further.

That last post of mine had a type pist for post. Now that was due to carelessness because pist isn't even a word.

That's what I despise. In Republicans also by the way.

24. The unifying theme of republicans

is to give free stuff to rich people. Cut their taxes, eliminate regulations on finance or pollution, etc.

"...strong unifying theme for 2020..."...could be

...and now a question from a Republican point of view:

"Do we want 24 million people showing up in an emergency room receiving a $40.00 band aid or in a doctors' office receiving a $0.40 band aid?"

27. Yes. The same as it is for Republicans.

And both want the same tiny group of rich people to get the free stuff.

Once upon a time, the Democrats at least wanted free stuff for regular folks. No more. Too bad. The country was much better off when taxes on the rich were very high, unionization was common, and there was a pretty fair amount of free stuff for people.

After 35 years of Reaganism/conservativism can any group besides the rich say that they are better off?
