Why Democrats secretly want an Obamacare repeal vote

The DNC, the DCC and House Democrats want there to be a formal vote on Trumpcare. It is doubtful that any bill can get out of the Senate that will be acceptable to the Freedom caucus and having a formal vote in this house on this horrible bill will be great for 2018 http://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/03/obamacare-repeal-democrats-237882

House Democrats think they’ve finally found their path back to power: Republicans voting to repeal Obamacare.

Yes, the best thing to happen to House Democrats since they pushed through the sprawling health care law — and lost the majority as a result — could be the Republican drive to dismantle it.

“I think the Republicans are playing Russian roulette with this vote,” said Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.). “There’s no question in competitive districts where you’ve got a potentially vulnerable Republican incumbent, this could make or break you.”

Democrats don’t actually want the law repealed. Under their dream scenario, House GOP leaders would muscle through their controversial health care bill only to watch it die a long, painful death in the Senate, where it has already received a lukewarm reception from Republicans. Obamacare would stay intact while the House Republicans who voted to gut the law have a big shiny target on their back heading into the 2018 midterms.

“I think there will be a political price to pay at the ballot box in 2018,” Rep. Linda Sánchez of California, vice chair of the House Democratic Caucus, told reporters Tuesday.

Democrats know a thing or two about the political price of Obamacare. Republicans channeled anti-Obamacare fervor in 2010 to take back the House, costing Democrats a whopping 63 seats and the majority along the way. Republicans have found success campaigning on repeal of the law in the seven years since, dashing Democratic efforts to take back House control.
Idiots like Pete Session, John Culbertson, Will Hurd and Pete Olson have stated that they support this bill but it will better for 2018 to get them to formally vote on this idiotic bill. The Democrats were actually irked when the last Trumpcare bill failed without a vote for this reason

Please vote on this idiotic bill

1. Whats stopping Obamacare repeal? GOP lawmakers in Hillary Clinton districts

Pete Sessions and John Cublertson are both in districts that voted for Clinton in 2016. These two idiots and Will Hurd are being targeted by the DCCC. I have met the DCCC person in CD 7 Culbertson's district. The Democratic really want these idiots to formally vote for Trumpcare http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/whats-stopping-obamacare-repeal-gop-lawmakers-in-hillary-clinton-districts/

WASHINGTON — The bill to repeal Obamacare is teetering on the brink of failure, and Republicans facing tough re-election races in 2018 are hesitant to take a vote that could have serious political consequences in 18 months.

There are 23 House Republicans who represent districts won by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, and more than half of that group are either opposed or undecided on the GOP health care bill as of Tuesday afternoon. None of the 23 Republicans is vocally in favor of the bill.

The list of undecided or opposed members includes incumbents used to tough re-election fights, like Rep. Carlos Curbelo of Florida, and members who represent districts that flipped to Clinton in 2016, like Rep. Ryan Costello of Pennsylvania.

"Each of us individually is evaluating it based on commitments we have made, public statements we have made," said Costello, who is opposed to the bill. "I voted the bill out of committee and I made certain representations during committee and to my constituents so that if a bill is ultimately going to get to the floor that contradicts statements that I've made, that becomes very problematic."

Opponents of the bill argue that the new language introduced last week by Rep. Tom MacArthur of New Jersey and approved by conservative members of the Freedom Caucus would give states the ability to strip health insurance from people with pre-existing conditions, something that many Republicans said is a non-starter for them in the past.

And Democratic campaign operatives are waiting to pounce on any perceived flip-flopping by Republicans facing a tough fight in 2018.

"Almost all of them have promised specifically not to cut the pre-existing conditions protections," said Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spokesman Tyler Law. "At an individual level if they support this, they are breaking their own promises. That's where I think you'll see a heightened level of blowback."
Please hold this vote as soon as possible

4. Yes I do and the Democrats effectively shot themselves in the foot. ...

Democrats need to lean an important lesson from the recent election. Don't let the Clinton Machine run the DNC.

Of course the Clinton Machine still has a lot of power so most Democrats fear going up against it.

6. It seems to me that Hillary uncovered the underbelly of the DNC

Granted, she sucks and amplified the problems of the DNC, but there was a significant amount of corruption and ugliness without her. Don't get me wrong here: I think the republican party sucks too, a lot. Both parties need to be replaced.

Another deep problem is that the parties have become adept at psychologically manipulating people to rush to the edges of sanity and support the most fucked up positions because their party promotes them. I see it here regularly from people on both sides.

7. I do believe that voters want to see the D.C. swamp drained but I doubt if Trump ...

will ever be allowed to do it. If he tries too hard some evidence will pop up or be created and he will be impeached.

8. It kind of falls on voters to drain the swamp

Unfortunately voters generally aren't terribly good at that sort of thing.

10. But that didn't hurt people personally. Bad comparison.

If the GOP dismantles ACA it will be fed back down their throats - piece by piece.

15. House Dems chant na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye at GOP after Trumpcare passes

The GOP want to give control of congress to the Democrats http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/watch-house-dems-chant-na-na-na-na-hey-hey-hey-goodbye-at-gop-after-trumpcare-passes/

House Democrats on Thursday taunted their Republican counterparts after they voted to pass the American Health Care Act, a bill that is estimated to take away health insurance from 24 million Americans.

As soon as the House Republicans cast the deciding 216th vote in favor of the legislation, Democrats in the chamber began chanting, “Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!”

that the Dems will win the House and Senate in 2018.
