Trump campaign reports fundraising surge, says Americans still stand with president

President Trump’s campaign announced Thursday a record-breaking fundraising haul this week, saying it shows the American people stand with the president despite unrelenting attacks from the news media and political foes.

The campaign website, DonaldJTrump.com, and the joint fundraising operation with the Republican National Committee took in more than $314,000 in contribution Wednesday, which is a one-day record for fundraising since the election, said the campaign.

“The American people are with the president stronger than ever before,” said Michael Glassner, executive director of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., which recently announced Mr. Trump’s re-election effort.

4. Sorry but one must be detached from reality to believe $314,000 raised

Means Trump has the support of the American people.

Trump has the support of just over 1/3rd of the American people. 300 large raised from 1/3rd of the population doesn't really seem like that much of an accomplishment to me.

7. It's a daily amount

And it's for an election that's several years out.

The fact that it's the highest daily total since the election does show that his base still supports him.

9. That his base still supports him isn't in doubt.

My point is that his base is far smaller than "The American People."

I know Trump-cons have a need to believe that they're "The American People" and us stinking liberals aren't. But really - we're all "The American People."

10. Meh, whatever.

How many people like or don't like him at this point in time is pretty much irrelevant. He's president until 1/20/21.

As I've posted before, if the economy is doing well in 2020 then he should stand a good chance of being re-elected if he chooses to run for a second term.

11. Too many Americans have had their lives ruined over the past 25 years thanks to government policy

You're not going to convince them otherwise by running stories about Trump getting 2 scoops of ice cream.
