So I personally would be cringing in embarrassment.

In some ways I almost feel sorry for her, having to come on TV all the time and spin the unspinnable bullshit she gets from Trump. Either that, or she's trying to guess at what he would say. Which really, is like trying to guess what a housefly might be pondering while it's doing the Tango on a dog turd.

Then you claim to not know that "wench" is a derogatory term.

I seriously don't know if you are really this dense, or if you are just pretending to be this dense in an effort to trigger me to post something hide-able.

Again, the term "wench" ALWAYS has a derogatory meaning in today's world. If someone calls you a wench (which I am close to doing) it mean they think you are either a slut, whore, or just someone who doesn't deserve respect in general and should be only there for someone else's pleasure.

37. The jaw gapeth.

"First you claim that no one called her a wench"

You are making a disgusting false statement. You ought to be ashamed. The falsehood of your statement is blatantly apparent on its face, but I'm sure you are pretending to believe it, and others will follow you, baa-ing away.

You said:

"So now successful females are wenches?"

NO ONE said that. NO ONE. THAT is what I said: NO ONE said that.

One person called one person "spokeswench".

NO ONE said anything about "successful females" (sic). (What, YOU think it's normal and decent to call women FEMALES? Think again.)

You say now:

"Then you claim to not know that "wench" is a derogatory term."

What is wrong with you?

If you didn't read post #34 before you wrote this message, then you have read it now and need to retract that ridiculous statement.

Of course calling someone a servant (who is supposedly a big shot professional) is derogatory. How ridiculous can you be?

"If someone calls you a wench (which I am close to doing) it mean they think you are either a slut, whore, or just someone who doesn't deserve respect in general and should be only there for someone else's pleasure."

And you, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar, I'm sure.

https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/wench
* A wench was a girl or young woman who worked as a servant or served people food or drink. (old-fashioned)
* a girl or young woman, esp a buxom or lively one: now used facetiously
* (archaic) a female servant
* (archaic) a prostitute

So unless you are speaking Olde Englishe, don't lob this "prostitute" nonsense in my direction and then tell me its **primary meaning** is not "servant", of a low-echelon variety.

And ask yourself -- I won't insist that you give us your answer out loud: what makes most sense in the context of the OP?

That Huckabee-Whatsit (jeez I can't stand women with their stupid fakey double-barreled names) is a low-status servant, or that she is a prostitute?

Be honest with yourself, at least.

Like I said, I don't if you really are this dense or if it's just an act. Maybe you just don't out much. Assuming that your definition is the more commonly used on (which it isn't) why would he use that term in that context? Makes no sense unless used as an insult based upon the person being female. Thus - misogynistic.

Let me educate you some more.

Yes, I do need the answer again because it doesn't yet exist. Why did he refer to Sanders as a wench in what is clearly a negative statement about her.

Harry called Powell a house servant with the intent of being very defamatory and even racist. Thanks for helping to make my point. I had forgotten about that.

I suppose you think he meant it as a compliment. Not surprised.

42. Now you're just playing the clown.

Mildly entertaining as a diversion from the more serious business on my desk, but no longer a strong enough pull to keep me from it.

Harry Belafonte:

"There's an old saying. In the days of slavery, there were those slaves who lived on the plantation and (there) were those slaves that lived in the house. You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master ... exactly the way the master intended to have you serve him.

"Colin Powell's committed to come into the house of the master. When Colin Powell dares to suggest something other than what the master wants to hear, he will be turned back out to pasture."

Do you think maybe Huckabee-Whatsit knows her place? Well, she hasn't been fired yet, so, so far so good, I guess.

And no. A black man criticizing another black man for betraying black people is not a racist.

43. You really are slow today.

Of course a Black man can make racist remarks about another Black man. Where do you get that he can't? Especially if he's referring to a Black man being nothing more than a servant to white man. That's incredibly racist.

Calling someone a mere servant is who only serves at the pleasure of another is a deep insult. How can anyone with a brain cell not see that?

I know you're just playing stupid, and you're quite good at it I might add. But this game has gone on long enough. Just admit that it was indecent for Frank to call Sanders a wench and move on. If you can't do that, then maybe this entire board should start calling you the DI Wench since you seem to think there's nothing wrong with the term.

Need evidence of Trump doing that ... for what purpose?

I don't know of anyone who has alleged that he did it. I certainly haven't.

Why would you claim to be "right" about something as false as what you have concocted?

Trump hoisted himself on his own tape-recorded assholish speech. That's what he did: he said what he said.

If you think people's revulsion at what he said was because they believed he had done what he referred to, you are confused.

I guess it's official then. We can once again use words like "negro" when referring to African Americans or Blacks since it's really a derivative of a word that means "black" in several languages.

Thanks for clearing that up for us.

I know that I am fully aware that "wench" is a female servant, and that is how ***I*** read the OP because that is the first and most significant meaning of the word, to me.

What do you imagine the derivation of "Get me a sandwich, wench!" might be?

I should never be surprised at what other people don't know.

Other than that, the word seems to be used mainly jocularly.

What it means to you, I have no clue.

If you want to know what its author meant by it, ask that person.

I very much doubt that the relatively neutral definition of "wench" was the one intended, given the author's opinion of the person it was used to describe. And yeah..."shuck and jive" i something I more often hear in white nationalist stuff, a thinly-disguised dog whistle term.

39. Hey Frankie, settle an argument for us.

Ms Jane seems to think there's nothing wrong with calling a woman a wench. I think there is something wrong with it. Can you please explain to us what you meant by using the term "spokeswench" instead of "spokesperson"?

55. The term "wench" is commonly used to express..

The level of regard one holds for an individual, where I come from..
As of this writing, none of the current staffers in this administration rate a "higher" level of regard.
The fact that I hold them in such regard, should come as no surprise to anyone who frequents this board..!!
OK...???

64. Since she does her "masters" bidding, without..

any apparent level of moral compunction against lying incessantly, she pretty much fits the description I've chosen for her...IMNERFHO of course..

current crop of "basketeers", it should come as no surprise to encounter a substantial number of "wadded skivvies", whenever one illustrates the truth about the total ineptitude of this entire administration so far..hopefully this latest "change in management" will begin to balance them out at least a tiny bit..But I'm not "betting the farm" on it..!!!
