Teflon Don confounds Democrats

Democrats have attacked the president every which way, but polling and focus groups show none of it's working.

By EDWARD-ISAAC DOVERE 09/13/2017 05:02 AM EDT

Democrats tried attacking Donald Trump as unfit for the presidency. They’ve made the case that he’s ineffective, pointing to his failure to sign a single major piece of legislation into law after eight months in the job. They’ve argued that Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself, and that his campaign was in cahoots with Russia.

None of it is working

1. yeah

And so one wonders why the residential idiot here tries so hard.

The more President Trump's denigrated by the haters, the more decent and civilized people tend to like him.

They might as well give up, and go off to collect stamps or butterflies or something.

3. It is just impotent rage and hyper-partisan hypocrisy.

They have nothing left really to genuinely mount a serious electoral fight with. They have lost power. The real liberals (classical ones) have left to become independent or even conservatives (GOP members as well). They rely on id pol. They obsess about projective bullshit that speaks more about their psychological issues than any Trump could have.

They are two year olds throwing a tantrum. Period.

10. "They are two year olds throwing a tantrum. Period." Most definitely...

If they had any clue how America views their behavior they would change it.

4. sure, but...

" “They’re all raising questions, but we still have to weave it into one succinct narrative about his presidency.” "

...right now, it's all Dem talk, but it's still early...just keep that steady drip of anti-cheeto juice coming...spotlight and highlight the anti-trump narrative whenever possible and embellish it when opportunity exists...

...it will at least have a bridling effect and when the cheeto fucks-up and fits this narrative, it will become an 'ah-ha' moment for many people...at the same time we must become the new and improved Dems, the better way to go...waiting for trump to self-destruct won't produce victory...

...our shoulder to the grindstone, his feet to the fire; victory will be ours...

11. "at the same time we must become the new and improved Dems". That means changing.

Something the democrat party refuses to do.

12. well...

...isn't that the battle ahead?

...we must reject the faux populism of trump and the alt-right; smash, box and reject the corporate/elitist/establishment in both Parties while simultaneously championing a true working-class Socialist populism from the Left...

...in can be done, if you'll help...

14. you...

...can call Obama whatever you want...

...what I don't understand are trumpkin 99%ers and how they're so heavily invested in trumps' faux populism...

...have you ever asked yourself how billionaires and investment bankers could end up being anti-system/anti-establishment populists championing the interests of the 99%?...the system doesn't provide that kind of wealth or participation to just anyone; you have to be a dues-paying, card-carrying, hardcore capitalist member first...

...trump is the system; a distractive illusion of a populist pulling the wool over the eyes of the 99%...if we want true working-class populism it can only come from the non-corporate, Progressive Left...

...join us, lend us a hand; we all basically want the same thing...

17. Trump is creating jobs, improving consumer confidence, securing our borders, etc

He's making lives better across the nation. So I don't give a flying fuck about his popularity. That's for the small-minded.

5. Democrats don't understand big giveaways only make normal people think they're paying

No one with a brain believes in a free lunch.

And frankly none of the free lunches are anything I'll be eating. All it means to me is I have to pay up for things I didn't get in the past and that I'll never use.

Normal people don't want stuff from the government other than efficiency.

We'd rather simply be left alone.
