So, how is Trump exercising his 1st Amend. right to criticize the press damaging to that Amendment?

Somehow, the MSM and Lefty think his criticism is 'violative' of that Amendment.

1. The press has a right to print what they want.

If they are shut out from official information, the press has both a duty to report on that, and arguably a responsibility to provide analysis (i.e. speculate).

Press briefings aren't for the convenience of the press, they are to get the desired information out.

It is Trump's belief and plan to get his true supporters (all 20% of you) to pressure media to stop reporting what they see.

9. Indeed no one. Which is the basis of my preference for Trump to any other republican.

I prefer impotent and ineffective republicans. Nothing of what he promises can he deliver upon even if he were so inclined.

The white house staff are a fancy, collaborative and well paid team of Au pairs.

36. Because its so glaringly obvious that Trump isn't being managed

that Stevie wonder can see it. Him backing out of the Paris climate peace accords, travel ban, trying to get obamacare repealed etc. Now while he isn't getting most of what he wants done due to his own party isn't his fault.

While i agree with most of what he says there are times i wish he'd not talk but you have to take the good with the bad.

2. The MSM and left want carte blanche to spread lies without being called on it

It pisses them off when Trump doesn't take it lying down.

And, as usual, he plays them like a fiddle with his trolling tweets.

32. He's made no threats to use "the power of his office" to do anything

Just voiced his opinion and posited some questions.

Which the 1A entitles him to as a citizen of the US.

34. He is president

And his words cannot be artificially separated into the "opinion of a private citizen "

His actions are held to a higher standard by virtue of his oath of office.

If spouting unconstitutional opinions is more important than faithfully executing his duties, Trump should resign.

3. It isn't the criticism that is problematic. It's his threat to revoke their licenses or otherwise

stop them from reporting the news that would be a violation of the First Amendment.

16. This is the thing with conservatives: inability to distinguish between facts and opinion.

The fairness doctrine was an extension of a founding principle of this country. The public airwaves were supposed to be used in the public interest, not for the licensee to lobby for their own tax breaks.

The idea that the fairness doctrine would silence AM talk radio is premised on one misconception: that listeners (and broadcasters) are entitled to their own facts.

I tuned in last night (a time in which I'm not ordinarily driving) to some radio host ranting about a conspiracy involving clowns or something... granted, I only listened for 10 minutes or so but it was crazy as hell and I never did get a clear idea of what the fuck he was talking about before they went to the gold and prepper rations commercials.

The network IS a collection of local broadcast licenses backed by a corporate charter.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If he doesn't like what MSM is saying he calls it fake news. Now he wants to silence what he doesn't like to hear. Is this the Government right wingers want?
