It's shit like this that makes us hate politicians

http://ibankcoin.com/zeropointnow/2017/10/28/prius-driving-ny-legislator-fakes-ptsd-panic-attack-to-get-out-of-minor-speeding-ticket-video/#sthash.OUCEZFK3.dpbs

Ulster County, N.Y. legislator Jennifer Schwartz Berky (D) – who is up for reelection Nov. 7, put on quite an act for a local police officer Gary Short after she was pulled her over for driving 43 mph in a 30 mph zone while talking on her cell phone.

A 26-minute video of the May 2017 incident was released last Tuesday during an Ulster Town Board meeting, and features a meltdown of epic proportions.

After Berky failed to impress officer Short by casually mentioning “I work for the county government, I’m a county legislator,” she immediately shifted into the victim role and proceeded to have histrionic tantrum. “Please don’t give me a ticket, I’m broke,” Berky cried, adding “I’m completely broke, and if you tell people, it’s going to hurt me. I’m totally broke. I made $20,000 last year. Please don’t give me a ticket.”

Officer Short – a consummate professional throughout the encounter, returns to his squad car to run Berky’s information, when Berky gets out of her car and fakes a panic attack, while on the phone, claiming PTSD.

1. All that for a traffic ticket?

Hell I must be an idiot. When I got caught speeding I figured ‘busted’ and paid the fine (or took the class so my ticket would get dismissed).

I’m getting too damn old for this world. Obviously I don’t fit in anymore. I believe in personal responsibility. That right there must make me a dinosaur.

5. Same here (he types as he knocks on wood)

What's so damn hard to comprehend about "no one is above the law"?

I don't give a damn what party you are. The minute you stop thinking of yourself as a servant and start viewing yourself as a ruler, you are my and the rest of the public's enemy.

I'm only sad there isn't public hanging for this crap, or perhaps we could bring back tar and feathering.

6. How not to get let off with a warning:

A friend of mine got pulled over about 10 years ago. Here's how the exchange went:

Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over today sir?

Friend: No, I really don't.

Officer: Do you know how fast you were going?

Friend: No, but I'm sure you're going to tell me.

Officer: Wait here, I need to get my book.

7. They got you!!!

Man up and Admit you were wrong and tell the officer hey I will take my medicine sir!!

Like I said I get out with a warning!! I also have a combat vet licence plate and a CCW! They look at that also! So white privilege, CCW and combat vet!!

America is stacked against the people who have never served and do not own a gun and then try to lie to the officer that pulls them over!! This country is going to shit!!!!

I hand the officer my license, insurance, (our business logo and name are on all of our vehicles), and ccw all at the same time. I am respectful and honest. I never get a ticket.

9. She is a dingbat....she did offer a kind of "apology"....

"“I hope to use it to grow and learn how to better represent the diverse working families who reside in the great city of Kingston,” she wrote in an apology.

“The video released earlier this week of my town of Ulster traffic stop captured a tough moment for me,” Berky added.

“Like so many working families, I too face tough times and stressful situations. As a professional, a public servant and a mother, I know my interaction with Police Officer Gary Short was unacceptable. I want to apologize to Officer Short and thank him for his patience and professionalism with me during a very difficult time.”

It's become a running joke up here....to my brother..."are you pulling a Berky?"

10. The funny part is, the officer was going to give her a simple seatbelt ticket

But she kept running her mouth and wouldn't let him talk so he gave her the speeding ticket.
