3. No, it is not good for all of America. Middle-incomers in New York, California, New Jersey and

several other states get reamed. I pay a ton in California Income Tax that I can no longer deduct and will have to pay more tax irrespective of the doubling of the SD. And the tax bill comes with a provision that the provisions that have been made to help taxpayers will expire in roughly 2026 unless extensions are granted. But they can expired before 2026. This tax bill is a clever trick on the tax payers that will come to haunt both of them and the creditworthiness of the US when the resultant increase in revenue does not happen and the one and one half trillion dollars the tax reduction costs doesn't get repaid. Shumer is making his warning for political reasons as the decrease in taxes for middle class in most States will seem like the Republicans are heroes. It's all just another game of ring around the public by the fascists.

5. Sorry but I do not feel too sorry for those in states that have large state and city taxes.

Why should the rest of the country subsidize breaks for high tax states??? If your state wants to have a state income tax of say 10.5% why should someone who gets taxed at say 6% have to secretly subsidize your tax break??? Demand your governor lower state taxes. Or is your state so deep in unfunded pension debt they can't???

Maybe when people realize how overtaxed they are in their respective states they will finally do something about it.

In the modern era when JFK and Reagan cut corporate taxes- the economy boomed! Jobs were created by the ton and incomes rose. Under Reagan income to the govt. doubled by the time he left office. Sadly he gave up his deficit hawkishness and gave in to deficit spending.

Every tax break for individuals has been temporary and it is liberal politicos who want to end those breaks.

BTW if a family earns over $130K they are no longer middle income- but lower upper income!

7. They shouldn't--But the non-deductability of the tax should have been phased in.

18. I am in CT and I am in the same boat.

Having said that, I am ok with losing the deduction.

I should not get a bigger deduction than citizens from states with lower taxes just because my state is not capable of functioning with a reasonable tax rate.

6. True to your left leaning.

You loathe allowing people to keep more of the money they earn! I mock the Dems and there now concern over the deficit when they were Obama's biggest cheerleaders when he ran up nearly $10,000,000,000,000 in new debt and kept our economy anemic.

At least this promises to prime the pump of industries, give them a chance to bring trillions back to America and have it work for them and the economy.

Remember businesses first responsibility is to the business and its owners!

11. Profits earned offshore get a 9% tax advantage

over domestic profits. I posted a link for that earlier. You guys are being played. More deficits and higher interest rates are in the wind. Wait til the carrying charge on the debt doubles. That's when they'll come for medicare and social security. The inevitable Republican recession/depression will add $15 trilllion to the debt in a couple of years. The Republicans are about to piss in EVERY-body's mess kit.

13. your faux outrage and prognosticative hopes are noted.

But more deficits ne3ver bothered your side when the great debt inducer added $10,000,000,000,000.

I am middle class and I see an $1800 benefit from this tax reform!

$15 trillion in a couple of years? Really??? You really think the Govt under Trump is going to run annual deficits of $4-5 trillion a year? You really think the entire budget will be deficit funded??

Every time conservatives want to give the workers more of their money- the marxists make eeyore and henny penny look absolutely gleeful by comparison!

17. Well they do do it.

I seem to remember the last president telling us the average family would save$2,500 on their medical bill. It is now costing 3-5X more not less.

Reagan cut taxes and people saved. Bush 2 cut taxes and people saved. So sorry you do not know history!

19. If this is regarding losing the state tax deduction, there is a principal involved

I do not think it is fair to the citizens of states with a low or non-existent state income tax to receive a smaller deduction than those who live in states with high state income taxes. I live in a high income tax state and I am fine with losing the deduction. I am not cutting off my nose to spite my nor anyone else's face. I am sticking to my principals even though it is personally not in my best financial interest.

14. Ahh the Washington Post- just one step higher of a left rag than the NYT.

Lie #1 13 million people will not be denied health care! If less people are covered it is because they will freely opt out of the ever increasingly expensive obamacare because the unconstitutional mandate is no longer in effect.

Not one person will be forced off healthcare if they want coverage!

Lie #2 Cutting personal and business taxes will not spur growth.

Kennedy and Reagan both did it and they experienced enormous booming economies as a result!

Once again the only people who will see tax increases in this tax bill are those who are making over $500,000/yr.

Their loss of the state and local tax deduction and loss of interest deduction after 500K on a mortgage will not be offset by the doubling of the standard deduction.

Just shows the duplicity of the marxist left! They whine incessantly about teh rich paying their fair share, so now the rich will pay more and how Lying Pelosi, Lying Schumer and Faux-ca-hantas are howling!
