Trump Derangement Syndrome sticks a knife in the Homeland tv series franchise...

"I’m sure that Homeland wants to seem so insightful with the line 'power without authority is tyranny,' but there are several holes in this plot. The more we keep going with this season, the more it seems like the show wants to play things both ways. They want to show the first female president saddled as the victim of a Russian plot, but they also want to see a tyrannical Trump-like figure be punished for being a fascist. The show’s desire to take down Trump is so strong that they’d risk impeaching their pseudo-Hillary Clinton.

This isn’t even the first show this year to depict the use of the 25th Amendment to oust a democratically-elected president, it wasn't even the first show of the day to have fantasies of removing Trump from office. Hollywood seems to believe that if it can repeat an idea long enough, it will come true in real life. Trump Derangement Syndrome has grown so unstable that it’s hard for them to deal with reality, they have to make things up in their little progressive bubble. It must be torturous being a liberal."

The Hollywood writers try to play it both ways, having the first woman president (a pseudo-Hillary Clinton) impeached for a litany of President Trump's actions, but I suspect they're playing it too clever by half and will leave a bitter taste in most viewers' minds. "The Last Ship" came off my further viewing list when that series' writers decided to place the female doctor who had just saved the WORLD on trial, "Homeland" has now ended it's interest for me...

2. Doesn't sound very imaginative. Writers must draw on experience, but not so literally.

Just as an aside: First, Americans had, according to Republicans, Bush Derangement Syndrome. Then, Americans had, according to Democrats, Obama Derangement Syndrome. Now, Americans have, according to Republicans, Trump Derangement Syndrome. I think I'm beginning to sense a pattern. (-;

My personal observation is that no President has been brutalized in "news" media, in fictional depictions and in astroturfing, more than Trump. And, no matter what our political orientation, that should make us angry: We deserve better than brainwashing attempts. On the other hand, no President in my lifetime has invited such things more than Trump has, whether by calculation or lack of impulse control. Is it reap, sow? Chicken and egg?

4. The TV Series '24' years back had one President arrested at a podium

for Treason and another time had a First Lady busted as a traitor not to mention the often repeated drystick sound followed by screams of agony when Jack was breaking vics fingers during rigorous interrogations.

Always liked 'jack' better as the Lying Marine Platoon Leader in 'A Few Good Men'.

Best of all though was "Jericho' exposing the Deep State in all its glory

5. I'll check out Jericho when I re-enable my Netflix DVD account. I put it on hold last month when...

... I had 12 new season series' languishing at the top of my queue and I was running out of fillers, so I cut them off for two months until interest diminished and the DVDs should be actually available...
