You know we have a generation of idiots...

...when students at a law school disrupt a law professor lecturing about the First Amendment, by yelling "F** the law"!

Yes....law students screaming "F** the law!"

Wow.

1. So he's whining about students exercising their free speech right to protest

his speech.

Sounds like it's not the students who don't understand how free speech works. They have every right to protest the ideas he propounds. He doesn't like it? Then he doesn't understand how 'free speech' works.

7. LMAO!

Looks like when asked, "Who else doesn't understand free speech?", you shot straight up with your hand in the air.

Lemme explain this in terms a child would understand:

You have the right to say whatever you want without being censored by the government.
You do not have the right to say whatever you want with NO ONE BEING ALLOWED to tell you you're wrong.

That's not 'repression' to anyone but delicate little snowflakes who can't take criticism.

8. You don't, but then

you are a leftist.
You do not have the right to say whatever you want with NO ONE BEING ALLOWED to tell you you're wrong. Except, the disrupters are wrong. That is why the neo marxists/far left doesn't use violence to suppress others. They know that their bullshit does not, can not stand up to the scrutiny to facts and reason, so they have to resort to such tactics. That is why they pressure corporations and push the government to suppress speech.

9. I would not even bother engaging with a hopeless uneducated lefty.

As you have said, freedom of speech does not give one the right to shout down another speaker.

It does not give one the right to stifle, 'de-platform,' suppress, etc.

Lefty is a bully, and the above poster supports bullying.

Nothing any more sophisticated than that. Bullying.

19. LMAO!!!!

Oh MY how you twist and turn to rationalize bullshit!

So it's illegal to 'shout down' someone? If that was true, most conservatives would be in jail right now.

You're saying that free speech should never have consequences? That the law should protect someone from being fired for saying something? In that case, Kaepernick should not have been fired for exercising his right to free expression... and he didn't even have to 'say' anything.

What's hilarious is how often you cons abuse the alert system to get posts hidden, and then turn around and wail about people 'stifling free speech'.

Holy fucking hypocrites.

25. I never said any of the crap you are addressing in your post.

I never said anything about being fired, about consequences, about Kaper-whomever.....

I have no idea about alerts, I don't alert, I don't do the jury nonsense either.

However, your method of discourse is classic lefty.

Me: I carry a firearm for self defense.

Lefty: SO...... You are for GUNNING DOWN children and think the Second Amendment protects owning a B-52 Stratofortress?

33. Pretending something happened just so you don't have to exercize

any intellectual rigor is so very childish.

I said this:

You have the right to say whatever you want without being censored by the government.
You do not have the right to say whatever you want with NO ONE BEING ALLOWED to tell you you're wrong.

And explained that the professor whining about students exercising their freedom of speech during his 'importance of free speech' lecture is completely hypocritical.

That's 'directly addressing' the subject whether you like it or not.

34. The professor had an approved speaking engagement at a reserved venue.

He was giving a presentation in which anyone in attendance was free to leave at any time.

If someone with an opposing viewpoint wished to speak, either wait until the Q and A session, or reserve a venue in a similar manner.

I would even be OK with a non-violent protest outside, if and only if attendees were not harassed.

However heckling a speaker is a form of disorderly conduct, bordering on intimidation.

I have a right to speak, but I do not have a right to an audience.

You have a right not to listen, but not to interfere.

14. You seem to have a seriously reading deficiency.

I just told you that already. Here's the quote, try again:

You have the right to say whatever you want without being censored by the government.
You do not have the right to say whatever you want with NO ONE BEING ALLOWED to tell you you're wrong.

No one is 'pushing the government to suppress speech'. Won't work, can't work.

But people can put all the pressure they want on corporations, but corporations CANNOT SUPPRESS SPEECH. The only thing they can do is apply pressure as their legal venues allow. So it's amazingly silly to say that they're 'pushing corporations to suppress speech' as corporations can't actually stop anyone from saying what they want unless they already have legal standing to do so, and the ONLY way they have that is if the offending party has committed libel, slander, or to a contract. And even THEN they have to go to court.

But in this particular case, the students are perfectly within their rights to say anything they want. This professor is whining that someone is criticizing him.

13. The teacher cant perform their job and teach students...

...if others are distrusting class. If they want to disrupt class, then the teacher should give a quiz the next day on the material that was SUPPOSED to be lectured on the day before, had the teacher not been shouted down and interrupted the entire time.

Do you think a few failed quizzes will cause the disruptive ones to allow the teacher to do their job?

16. Oh, you poor dear.

It's kind of sad that you have to tell yourselves that my pointing out what widdle pwecious snowfwakes you are is somehow 'bitching' about a hide. Does it make you feel better about yourselves to pretend that's why I posted?

Because I stated why I posted, and your squeals and laughable accusations are music to my ears and eyes.

But here's another sad thing about you: You think that when you hypersensitive little snowflakes have to gang up on someone for hurting your feelings and CENSOR them, that somehow that's only 'protesting'.

No, that's *actually* engaging in the suppression of speech. So when you butthurt little children whine about 'liberals' protesting someone else's 'free speech', and then turn around and ACTUALLY censor someone because you don't like what they say, you're being monumental hypocrites.

Zero integrity. Zero maturity. Zero shame. Typical conservatives.

Pathetic.

"A law professor was heckled and shouted down during a recent speech at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law by students who opposed his conservative views."

According to these "students" Blackman should not have the right to say anything he wants. Their goal was to have him not be heard. That is an infringement upon his first amendment rights.
