Should the Senate undo the nuclear option

Let's say for example Trump ends up getting to set the court to 6-3 by the end of his first term then gets elected to his second term. After he gets his initial staff set for the second term, should the Senate then turn around and say we told you that nuclear option was a bad idea and you wouldn't like the outcome you did it anyway so this is the bed you made. Perhaps you have learned your lesson so now we are setting it back to norm. Change it again at your own demise.

1. No, it won't work, due to the learning challenges of Democrats, liberals, and primitives

They haven't learned a damned thing from this experience.

As far as they're concerned, something that affects Republicans won't affect them, and vice-versa.

2. The Dems created this situation, they were told, ...we will now beat them unconscious with it

This is the new normal that the Dems wanted.

Lefty will never learn

3. Of course, we have to keep in mind that the same rules might work against us in the future--

--we won't be in power forever--but I'm sure that Republicans and conservatives, being aware of that, will manage to handle it, work with and around it (as a minority) much better than the other side, which honestly believes once they're voted in, they're forever, and so no point in developing any strategies to deal with such an eventuality (becoming the minority party again).

7. Getting a 6-3 court

With young justices is that beating. This would be apply the beating then step back and offer a hand up. That puts the Republicans on the high road after taking the spoils. This would play very well politically with moderates.

4. Yeah, right.

Let's say Trump never makes it through his first term. And let's say Democrats take back the Senate this year and block every single Republican judicial nominee from now on until hell freezes over.

6. If that happened then

They wouldn't make that change, easy enough.

5. The die has been cast in this

I'm just hoping that the nuclear option doesn't get used in legislation down the road. Having a simple majority make laws would suck for both sides of the aisle.

10. The genie is out of the bottle.

They could get rid of it, but it will just get brought back down the line if it’s politically expedient.
