House Passes Resolution in Support of NATO by Unanimous Voice Vote

Brett Samuels 1 hr ago

The House on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution expressing support for NATO as President Trump roiled allies with escalating calls for increased spending from alliance members.

The House, which added the NATO resolution to its schedule this week, approved the item via voice vote, according to multiple reports. It calls NATO "the most important and critical security link between the United States and Europe."

Trump on Wednesday repeatedly called for allies to increase their spending contributions toward the alliance. He has long complained that the U.S. shoulders an unfair burden in covering a majority of the funding for NATO.

The House resolution came a day after the Senate approved a nonbinding motion 97-2 expressing support for the alliance.

3. I agree with your last statement but

Have not seem much evidence to support the first statement that Trump supports NATO.

It is notable that the only time Article 5 has been invoked was after 9/11

2. It means nothing

Finally we have a president that is taking those freeloaders to task for their lack of monetary commitment to their own defense.

NATO needs to step up to the plate and open their wallets for their own defense.

They have used us as suckers so they could spend all their money on cradle to grave entitlements while we picked up the tab to protect them.

Like I have said before Poland is a true friend who wants us their and is paying their fair share in defense spending.

We need to redeploy out troops there and let the other allies take the gut punch for all that lost revenue to their economy and let it build Poland.

5. IMHO Most members of the senate and house that are Republican can't stand trump

but they are fearful of him at this second in time, so they are biding their time for his
DOWNFALL and their freedom from him.

IMHO=in my humble opinion

6. Good for them!

They wasted time and virtue signaled for a resolution that is non-binding and has no say in what Trump can and will do with regards to NATO.

Of course you leftist support it.
