Should Trump give Harley-Davidson $100M to cover its losses from his Republican trade war?

Trump started the war, but apparently other people are expected to quietly take the losses. It takes a lot of gall for Trump to put down and call for a boycott of HD when Trump and his money are sitting safely out of harm's way.

Should Trump cover Harley's losses?

Yes. Trump should have skin in the game for a change.

No. Trump can just hand out losses to other businesses while keeping his own safe.

1. The question is a lie, Trump represents the business interests of all Americans.

I know several liberals who are screaming with joy every day they look at their stock holdings and they dearly love that their kid finally got a job and moved out of their house.

4. are you advocating that Trump can now invest in companies affected by his policy?

Sounds like it. Your lefty brethren aren't going to be very pleased with your free market ideals.

8. Apparently not that big anymore

given that HD can barely sell their motorcycles to the younger generations. They are bringing back bicycles for them though!

10. Seems like millenials...

are partial to the breathtaking power and iconic freedom of scooters and mopeds. Nothing like riding your Spree with a girl in shorty shorts and a half shirt, sitting on the back, getting excited to the 50cc rumble.

15. If I could find a Audrey Hepburn....

i would ride a moped. And make Audred forget she was a princess. As it is, I will stick with my 67 Triumph Tiger chopper.

11. Millenials don't have that kind of money.

And if they _are_ into motorcycles, it's usually not big retro-cruisers...those are "granddad bikes."

13. I don't disagree.

My woman used to ride. She had a HD. Hated it! She finally found a nice Beemer that she just loved. She threatens me that she will get another one soon and we can tool around the desert on it. I have never been the motorcycle kind of guy. Give me the Beemer sports car.

14. I'm pretty small.

Like 5'3", 112lbs small. Harley's are awfully big and heavy for me...and as a confirmed speed junkie, I like a bit more performance. I have an Aprilia RSV4 sportbike. It's pretty compact for a 1000cc bike, and fits me well (although I have aftermarket clip-ons and foot controls to help). I do like BMWs, 2- and 4-wheel alike. =)

19. Heh.

I have to admit the idea of crashing (or burning my leg on the exhaust or engine) in shorts is pretty scary.

But I get impatient riding on the back. I used to ride pillion on my Dad's bikes when I was a girl, but even then I realized I'd rather be tearing around on my own little dirt bike.

17. You two are almost identical and size and height.

I think that was her issue with Harley's as well. I think she owned a Mean Steak as well but don't quote me on that. She likes the 2 and 4 wheel alike as well.

20. A friend of mine has one of the new-gen M4 coupes.

It's a rocket, but it's also comfortable for a car with that much performance, with reasonably compliant suspension and a really nice interior. BMW's DCT shifts fast, and the engine sounds great (although I think BMW is one of the companies that pipes fake "engine noise" into the cockpit via the sound system...which is lame). Hell of a nice car...

21. The M4 is nice but I

prefer the older models. We just got a cherry 2001 Z3 Roadster. It is fucking beautiful and powerful. It is a pleasure to drive. We hear the engine just because it is a soft top. When the hell did they start doing that lame shit?

My next car I am planning on is a 328i. I really like the power, the comfort, and a mid-model with low mileage is a great price instead of financing something newer.

BMW absolutely nailed the styling on that model...what a great-looking sports car.

24. I definitely agree.

It was her dream car when it came out in the late 1990's. We found this one after the accident a few months ago with only 30k miles on it. Fucking wonderful! I can't wait until fall when we can put down the top. Right now, it is just too hot to do so.

9. Since HD will end up making more profits because of the European trade war, no.

The trade war started decades ago, Trump is the first US POTUS to actually fight the war. HD's profits will increase in the end by getting a strong market in Europe.
