A Presidential Foreign Policy Mess: Chinese/American Aircraft Incident

What would you think of a President who didn't have the brass to stand up to the Chinese after they intitated a dangerous aerial encounter?

What about one who actually apologized to the Chinese for it happening?

1. Our spy planes shouldn't be going into China's exclusive economic zone.

But they are and that's an unnecessary provocation.

2. Well, the 2001 "apology" wasn't an actual apology.

...at least not an apology in the manner that China demanded.

Even after translation, the US expressed sorrow for the death of a Chinese pilot and regret for landing one of our planes on foreign soil without clearance.

Because it WAS a SORT of an apology, however, China had no excuse not to return our personnel and plane. Great diplomacy, IMO.

3. Yet, our friend Buzzard (may he continually rest in peace) was set to ream...

the current administration for not starting WW III over the latest provocation.

4. The Chinese also got ahold of PLENTY of US intelligence gathering data

During the extended period where they held our team and the plane with all of its instruments.

Way to ducking give away our secrets, Bush! Not long before that tumbleweed allowed the worst terrorist attack on US soil.

Miserable failure was Herr Bush.
