4. Obama cut deficits in half.

Don't you think he deserves credit for that?

8. From GWB's last budget fiscal year until his own last in 2017.

In FY 2009 the federal deficit was $1.4T. In 2017 it was $665 billion. Obama cut the deficit in half.

9. I hate to be the one to break this to you but Obama was president in 2009

In the fiscal period October 2006- to September 2007, with a Republican house and Democratic Senate, the deficit was 500 billion dollars (1/2 a trillion). (Bush was president, just so you remember)

The last full fiscal year of Bush’s administration, October 2007 to September 2008, Bush had a full Democratic Congress, both House and Senate. The deficit was 1.02 trillion. Bush was president for three more months into the next fiscal period.

Obama took office January 20, 2009 with a full Democratic House and Senate in place. The deficit for fiscal year October 2008 to September 2009 was 1.9 trillion He was president for 9 months of that fiscal period. The following year it was 1.7 trillion, still with a full Democratic House and Senate. The following year it was 1.2 trillion with a Democratic Senate and House of which the House became Republican in mid-year.

The following fiscal year, October 2011 to September 2012 the deficit was 1.27 trillion with a Democratic Senate and Republican House.

Now, about Bush “leaving” a deficit for Obama. The outgoing president proposes a budget for the coming year. Obama was not obligated to spend it. Once president, Obama had full veto power over his fully Democratic Congress. The spending during Obama’s term was under his control.

You can't triple the deficit, then claim to cut it and expect people to applaud you, silly.

11. FY 2010 was Obama's first budget year.

Before that it was GWB's budget. Bush actually signed the TARP legislation during FY 2009. Most of what went on in the economy that fiscal year was carryover from Bush's policies.

This is a well known convention for assigning a president's FY accountability.

7. Let's keep in mind that any new debt incurred in FY2017 is BO's

since that was his budget and his spending on social experiments (like bathroom usage ).
