Trump Tariff adds 1 cent to a can of beer... 6 cents to a 6-Pack.

Why do people think the tariffs are raising retail prices??? lmao.

2. How does it affect the aluminum bodied Ford F-150 pickup?

Ford Bet on Aluminum Trucks, but Is Still Looking for Payoff

Conceived for an era of high gasoline prices, the F-150 has lost its fuel-efficiency selling point, while its key material has gotten costlier.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/01/business/ford-f150-aluminum-trucks.html

Of course oil going from$45 to $75 / barrel should make fuel efficiency a selling point again.

14. Well...

I couldnt find any data on the amount of aluminum on an F-150

The body... they don't specify, are just the panels aluminum or the whole body, inner and outer panels?

I tend to think probably the whole thing and that might be 1400lbs?ish

If it is... scap aluminum is around 50 cents a lb so that means 1400lb = around $700 in aluminum

10% tariff means about a $70 increase in cost... for a $40k truck

20. Ford doesn't make pickups out of scrap aluminum

The aluminum spot price is around 90 cents/lb. But I'd bet that sheet aluminum suitable for stamping body panels is much more expensive than that.

19. Isn't this what the Left says about raising the minimum wage?

That Big Mac's will go up a penny and the right wingers flip out about it? How is this argument different?

And I'm not a Dem or left winger.
