How come the IPCC never recommends rationing instead of taxation to curb global warming?

You know the answer.

1. On what basis would one ration? Population?

The US has around 5% of the world’s population.

2. I'm sure some scheme could be figured out.

Countries manage to do it in times of war.

3. Because it is just a neo-Marxist redistribution plan, of course.

Developed nations must foot the bill for gender issues in developing Africa cause that will curb 'global warming'.

7. Thanks for adding that.

It always surprises me that leftist support the Paris Accords but really don't know what is actually in the Paris Accords.

8. This is like lefties other ploys,

they have no idea how badly it fails in the real world.

I'm all for responsible stewardship of the environment however, the moment they suggest a tax or fee that the proceeds of which do not go directly to mitigation efforts they have lost all credibility.

Not one thin dime for politicians to waste on unrelated BS EVER.

9. My parents were life long Republicans.

They were also life long members of the local soil and water conservation district. They were also strong in stewardship but as a personal choice and NOT via forced taxation and socialist engineering. I am the exact same way and agree with you completely.

Ultimately liberals are terrified of freedom and the requisite responsibility that comes with it. They don't want to actually be responsible stewards of the environment, they want big daddy government to force others to do it for them. Feminists want free birth control, abortion on demand, and the freedom to be treated just like men but then they whine about being perpetual victims of the patriarchal rape culture that only big daddy government can protect them from.

It is like a majority of them are stuck in the adolescent stage of human psycho-social development. Give me freedom to do whatever the hell I want you fuckers, but wait, don't actually make me work, be responsible, or have to deal with the negative consequences if I make bad choices.

10. Indeed

I think too many lefties confuse a distaste for global initiatives that have nothing to do with their stated goals, as somehow greenlighting trashing our environment.

The conservatives I know who are regularly in the woods hunting, fishing, camping, etc...tend to leave a clean trail behind them...while the people protesting to protect that environment leave mountains of garbage wherever they were.

11. "give me freedom to do whatever the hell I want..."

Note: that exact same freedom would not be applicable or available to you.

Remember, the rules for YOU are always different, as far as they're concerned.

15. Of course not.

We have to toil and work to pay for all of their free shit.

14. Indeed.

If it were really about the carbon, and not fleecing the public, you would think one of the many online carbon footprint calculators would include a carbon sink or offset section.

12. It makes sense.

If the goal is to profit off global warming, rationing provides fewer opportunities for graft and corruption than creating a giant pile of money to distribute in sketchy ways.

16. who would get a ration card?

if i liked to joy ride i could always buy ration coupons cheap at the nursing home.

i think that during the current "global war for petroleum" gasoline should be rationed, but the system is easily gamed.
