For those that think that Alabama is turning blue

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/11/06/us/elections/results-alabama-elections.html

A single question has loomed over Alabama politics since Senator Doug Jones, a Democrat, was elected to the United States Senate last December: Could the state’s long-beleaguered Democrats muster anything close to a repeat in November?

And the answer??? Nope...and in two years, Doug Jones will be gone...BUT, looking at the future, there are a lot of people moving into the state from blue areas(because it's cheaper to live here) and they will bring that junk with them(Colorado??), so I do expect that within the next 20 years, that we will be at least more purple....

2. We are already seeing it...

Here in madison county, where I work, there is a drag strip out by the river...been there for DECADES...They race on Friday and Saturdays, closed in the winter, so it's not a huge time frame...anyway, there is a ton of development out that way and this past Tuesday, a noise law was passed...People claim it's for barking dogs, etc, but it's really to put this speedway out of business among other things....People moved out there KNOWING there was a speed way, and now will legislate it out of business...City folk are also complaining about 4 wheelers..

They will try to do the same things with farms and chicken houses too...those things stink at certain times of the year and growing up in the country, you get used to it...but now, bougie people are buying into subdivisions that are surrounded by farms and then complaining about the smell of cow pies...

The funny thing is people who will call 911 when they hear guns out here. There was a move in my little town to outlaw gun discharge within so many feet of a house..basically banning any kind of shooting...fortunately, it was poorly written and they withdrew it when they found out it would not stand up to scrutiny.
