4. Actually it doesn't

Her family doesn't seem to be well off, she doesn't appear to have ever had a well paying job to build up a financial reserve and owes student loans. She'll have a tough time living in the Bronx and D.C. on a Representative's salary.

Of course she is still so far left as to be insane, but it might be fun watching her rock the Democratic boat in the House, somehow I don't see her going along or keeping her mouth shut to get along with the leadership.

13. A quick search puts rent for a studio apartment in DC & the Bronx

totaling $35,000 a year for both not including utilities. She may gross $174,000, but she isn't taking home that much after taxes.

Do some research, there are any number of representatives who sleep in their offices because they can't afford to pay for housing in both their own district and in DC and I've also heard that some in Congress split the rent with other Congress critters.

Yes $174,000 is a lot of money to me and you and most of us, but most of us don't have to pay for two homes either.

I'm no fan of hers, but absent some evidence to the contrary, I can believe that she is broke enough not to have money to rent an apartment or house in DC

16. ''but she isn't taking home that much after taxes''...and whose fault is that, Dems or Repubs? Maybe

she should ask Bernie Sanders how he, peter piper of the poor, affords 3 homes......

21. That is plenty, even for those two zip codes

Even if you assume taxes eat up 74k, that leaves here 65K to survive on after housing. I think she will manage.

6. Well if she didn't buy those $5,000 outfits for herself

during the campaign, she can simply ask those who did to foot the bills.

She is a Marxist after all. They always take from others because they can't do it themselves.

3. a few more blow jobs than what got her elected should do the "job"

There is many a trailer hitch in her wake asking "where did my chrome go?"

And every move she makes will be scrutinized like a Donald Trump casual restaurant receipt.

Better still since 2016. You see, we actually profit when the economy does well, no government required.

17. She'll have to sleep in her office like Republican congress critters do.

https://www.npr.org/2015/12/26/458207661/meet-the-lawmakers-who-sleep-shower-work-all-on-capitol-hill

____

There's also no official data on how many do it. Lawmakers estimate, though, that at least 40 House members sleep in their offices.

"I think there's more than you might expect," said Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., who sleeps on a futon in his office. "There's quite a few of us, particularly the younger members with young families back home in our districts. There's quite a few — men and women."

Noem is one of very few women who sleep in their office. Most of them are Republican men.

____

Paul Ryan slept in his office for years.

19. There's apparently no rule against it so representatives do it.

There have been stories over the years of house and Senate members cramming into small apartments or living in the office.

Congressional pay is ok but when you have another home and a family to support things get tight.

They should have a big dorm for representatives.

20. Stayed there on a school trip in 1982

Terrible fleabag motel. We found a switchblade hidden between the mattress and box spring in our room. It was a terrifying location. We snuck out of our hotel room one night to go buy a pizza. After dodging insane traffic crossing several streets we wondered into some place with some huge black man behind the counter who had to be at least 6'5", 250 pounds of pure workout muscle. I swear he looked like a cross between a linebacker and a brick wall. The first thing I hear and see as I walked through the door was him yelling back to the kitchen "SHUT THE FUCK UP BACK THERE BEFORE I COME BACK AND KILL YOU!". When he asked me "What do you want on your pizza?" all I could muster was "Whatever you think best...". I was 14 at the time and had never traveled without my parents before.

22. I love stories like that!

Doesn't it make you wonder about the judgement of your school leaders?
Like, what the hell were they thjnking, anyway?

I wound up in a shitty hotel in Omaha back in January of 1976 for one night... no working door lock, no heat to speak of and paper thin walls with a chronic cougher on the other side of them. I didn't sleep a wink. It was the right price though, lol.

23. "Doesn't it make you wonder about the judgement of your school leaders? "

Well it was a Catholic School and the chaperone was a priest, so good judgement wasn't exactly high on the scale of priorities.
