Fort Worth Pastor Who Called Orlando Massacre Victims 'Scum' Ousted Over Prostitution Allegations

?auto=format&q=40&or=0&w=600

A Fort Worth pastor known for praising the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting and condemning the victims will be replaced Sunday, after accusations that he'd sinned by sleeping with prostitutes

Donnie Romero's departure was announced at a Jan. 2 meeting at Stedfast Baptist Church, which is designated as an anti-LGBTQ hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

"I haven't been ruling my house well," Romero told the congregation. "I've been a terrible husband and father."

Romero was ousted over allegedly "being with prostitutes," fellow New Independent Fundamentalist Baptist pastor Steven Anderson said in a video posted to Youtube, as well as gambling and using marijuana.

He is disqualified from being a pastor and will continue to participate in the congregation.

1. What a surprise!

An exemplar of Christianity!

He’s got that intense look of a holy roller Bible thumper, doesn’t he? Let’s all go read Leviticus and pray.

2. Wrong again, but hey that is typical of your thinking of Christians.

4. How is YOUR walk with the Lord, CW?

The ironic thing about the Bible is that if you want to discuss it as truth, all the teachings in it apply also to you.

The other ironic thing is that Jesus came to save the sad saps that sleep with prostitutes, steal their neighbors car, bully old people, and act like conceited fools whos only joy in life is to mock other's religion.

Yes, people need to work on their negative character traits such as envy, jealousy, pride... I mean there's a whole big 10 commandment thingy.

You're not unique, CW, in your Christian bashing. The entire book was in fact written for people like you. "Oh, noooooooooooooo, it's fiction. I just like to bash those who pretend that they are something special because they call themselves Christians and believe a fairy tale."

I don't see people stumbling over themselves on forums to discount fictional fairy tales such as Mary Poppins or The Seven Dwarfs.

Your issue is not with Christians. It is with Christ. And if Christ means as much to you as Dopey, why the angst?

5. How is my walk with Yahweh? Well, I'm not Jimmy Stewart

who walks around and drinks with imaginary beings. So, I would say jt’s pretty non-existent.

You could ask me about my Walk With Elias, however, as the WWE certainly requires less of a “suspension of disbelief” than Christianity.

Yeah, there is that whole 10 Commandments thingie. The thingie in which the first four can be summarised as “Worship and obey me or die, bitches!” A few “nice to haves” and only two which are codified into law in virtually all civilisations, by necessity. But no room for “Don’t take slaves?” No room for “Rape is a pretty bad idea?” Nope, gotta include “Don’t work on the Sabbath!” Priorities, you know.

As to your specious argument about raging against the Seven Dwarfs, I tell you what. When there are 100s of thousands of tax-exempt churches erected to worship Snow White and her merry band of little people, I’ll be upset. When local school boards push to teach SnowWhiteism in high school science classes, I’ll be outraged. When Faux News starts talking about the War on Snow White, I’ll be ... well, that wouldn’t change my opinion of them, to be honest.

So no, I don’t hate Yahweh any more than I hate Allah or Vishnu or Zeus. One does not “hate” imaginary beings. One hates the evil that men do in their names, from Islamic jihadis massacring innocents along the Promenade des Anglais, to Popes who tell their followers that using condoms is a sin, to the Kent Hovinds and Ken Hams of this world who indoctrinate children into believing in Yahweh over science. Those are certainly worthy of my hate.

6. Hate is hate. Evil is evil. It is not unique to one religion or political persuasion.

I won't argue what is real and what is not real in regards to religion. I won't argue how you insist that if one is religious, they cannot be scientific. That is a very immature concept. Faith is very personal and quite frankly privileged information. You could not change my religion or that of others any more than you could dismiss the love I have for my children or the love a child has for his mother or the love the ILOVE has for his partner. Yes, I went there.

Those things cannot be held in your hand, they can't be disparaged by you, nor any other person just because you are jealous or don't understand that some things require faith. Those are the things YOU cannot personally stop or change.

So yes, you can say it's fake or wrong or silly or "gay", but everyone knows better. You can argue that Ken Ham is DESTROYING children, but that is akin to saying that net neutrality is killing people.

It gets to you. I know. Try searching for something yourself, rather than being spiteful of others. It just leaves you spiteful. Over what? Something you don't believe in? Use that passion on something you can believe in. You'll be a lot better off.

7. It seems you cannot take legitimate criticism of your ideas

You made a quite elaborate post talking about the importance of the Biblical, presumably Protestant, 10 Commandments. You then went on to posit the question that if atheists believed Christianity to be a fairy tale, why are they not as upset about the tale of the Seven Dwarfs. Finally, you alluded to the old atheists hate Yahweh canard.

When I answered each one of these, logically and without invective, you retreat into:

- It’s what I believe and you can’t convince me otherwise
- The selected faithful have got their own private line to Yahweh
- Atheists think that if you can’t see it or hold it, it’s not real
- CW needs to get saved

Disappointing for something that started off on a more logical basis.

BTW, I never said Ken Ham was destroying children; I said he was indoctrinating them. If you want to see the results of mixing fairy tales and real science, note that US students rank 38th in mathematics and 24th in science. And yes, there are other reasons as well. But getting religion out of the classroom is a good place to start.

8. They're not really my ideas. You cannot argue faith. You can't.

I'd be just as interesting to argue The Three Billy Goat's Gruff. If it means nothing to you, it has to mean nothing to me. Otherwise, there is no meeting on the subject. We're not even at the same starting points. You'll spend your time telling me I'm silly and I'll spend my time telling you that you're going to Hell.

I'm kidding.

Jesus is NOT the reason we fail at math.

*IN regards to the OP, you were quick to blame all Christians for the sin of that weird dude. You personally attacked all Christians as you said something about his looks and reading Leviticus. WHY would you do that? What if he really liked Shakespearean Drama and was a professor. Could I therefore state that all SD were weird and always dressing odd and very hypocritical?

Like, when did YOU decide what all our moral authority should be?

9. You're absolutely right and its refreshing that you have a sense of humour about it

As for telling me I’m going to Hell, don’t worry, I’ve been practising. I lived in Riyadh for five years.

One minor correction: Yahweh is not the only reason US students are (really) bad at math.

Just saw your addendum. I’ll come back.

3. Well his ouster is far too late.

He should have been removed when he called the pulse victims scum.

Christians are no better than non-Christians- we are just better off because we have had our sins forgiven and given the power of God to move towards holiness.
