So, if Trump pulls the trigger and declares a National Emergency to build the wall

he has no incentive to offer DACA or any other concessions to the Dims.

It seems that Pelosi and Schumer should take what they can get while they can still get it.

1. And you would be correct. Trump is playing chess while dumb and dumber are playing tic-tac-toe.

4. I'd love to see Trump pulls this ---

Given his stellar approval rating around 40% and recent moves by Republicans in other matters (like Wisconsin stripping the governor of power because a Democrat got elected) the over-reach for power needs to be crystal fucking clear. Americans really need to have the message driven home that Republicans don't believe in democracy. They'll do anything to get their way, regardless.

Of course most of you read that and bellow "Hell Yeah!" But most Americans are mortified by this behavior.

lol@me, Lefty and NPCs all you want guys. Trump and his wall are no where near as popular and beloved as you all seem believe.

He who lol's last and all that ...

5. It is as popular today as when he ran,

It is what his supporters want and when he gives it to them it's game over. PS enjoy the RBG replacement

10. Some older folks just will not retire...

I worked with a guy who's twin brother retired at 70 and passed away at 74.

He swore it was because his brother retired.

When I met him, he was 80 and when I left three years later, he was still there.

I imagine he's retired or met up with his brother by now, it's been 16 years.

12. Wonder who's next up for theSCOTUS.

With the changes inside the WH staff and the pick up in the Senate, maybe a new list?

14. She isn't retiring for something as prosaic as what you describe

She clearly doesn't want Trump to fill her spot.

6. Why aren't you crying about the other 31 NEs?

Do you really think the situation in Burundi is a threat to the US?

Do you even know what the situation in Burundi is or how to find it on a map?

7. I get the feeling that Trump does want to address DACA

but agree that he should hold up on it until he gets the wall funding.

And I suspect there will still be a fight on DACA as the Dems will just want to hand them all blanket citizenship while Trump probably wants to take a more measured approach. (At least until after 2020 - LOL.)

20. If Trump declares a national emergency

There will be enough lawsuits from environmentalists, property owners, the Tonoho O'Odham Indian tribe and state and federal politicians to keep the actual building of a wall tied up in the courts under injunctions for years.

22. It can be built where there is no standing to sue first.

Then, as it funnels the illegal immigrants to the private property portions which are wide open, perhaps the owners will change their minds with all the new traffic.
