Lefty, can we assume from recent statements by Dem Presidential Nominees that their AG Nominees

will NOT be 'hand picked' or hold the core values of the new President? Perhaps the new AG could be chosen by lottery? Would they 'hand pick' SCOTUS nominees?

1. The question is will any of them hold the belief that the president is above the law

If they hold such a belief they should NOT be chosen as AG.

2. Barr's opinion is held by many Const. Scholars. R reporters 'above the law' for some Const purposes?

3. AGs should uphold the rule of law and be truthful and honest in their dealings

Of course, different AGs in different administrations will have different values. A lot of this manifests in prosecutorial discretion (go vigorously after pot-smokers or no?) or areas of investigation (Holder was rapt on civil rights issues).

But the core should still be there.

Barr's summary and press conference didn't clarify nor give an honest assessment of what was in the report. What he said was in there, and what I read was in there with my own two eyes were not consonant.

I know this has been said a lot in media coverage, but I happen to agree with the general contours of the sentiment: The AG should be America's lawyer - not the President's personal one. His or her job is not to protect the President. It's to protect the people.

Barr's performance has been very disheartening in that regard.

5. Check your eyes, get out of the liberal bubble,

and use some critical thinking, and you might just realize how wrong you are about this.

8. Do I strike you as someone who lives in a liberal bubble?

I post with, argue with, and not too infrequently agree with conservatives here. I disdain DU. I approvingly linked to a right-wing blog earlier. I agreed several times with the need for the IG investigation and how shady what the FBI and intelligence services were doing to aid Hillary.

C'mon, man. You should be a little better than that.

I try to be as objective and nonpartisan as possible. I'm a liberal in ideology and policy. So bias will inevitably creep in despite my best efforts.

But seriously. Liberal bubble?

I don't think I'm the one floating pearlescently about around here.

9. Right now after three years of this incessant propagandizing,

yes, sadly, you are in the bubble.

10. Well, I tried to be reasonable.

So I'll just say . . .

Bitch, you need to step up your pussy.

11. Read my other replies today correcting

the liberal "interpretations" of this report.

I expected you to be reasonable. I did. There are very few liberals here at DI who I believe still can be.

12. Ok, I'll scale back a little hostility

Can you link to at least some of your replies?

I'm not being lazy. The site is loading so slowly that I'm reading and responding very scattershot, and I have literally not seen any of your posts on the topic.

I promise I'll read them and give them honest thought.

7. "Holder was rapt on civil rights issues"

He didn't seem so "rapt" when those two knuckleheads were standing outside that Pennsylvania voting precinct holding clubs and yelling at people.

I'm sure that's different, somehow.
