Suppose the Republicans

wrote a law that made it illegal for white women to get an abortion but not only kept it legal, but fully funded any abortions for black or Hispanic women.

What would Democrats say? Would they call it racist?

2. It would never pass in the Dem controlled House

So there is no way for it to become law. Yes, the Democrats would call it racist, so would the courts.

5. There is a longstanding legal concept called compensatory damages

Affirmative action programs are compensation for hundreds of years of legal discrimination against minority groups. For example, state laws that forced non-whites to only be able to go to schools set up for non-whites.
The Supreme Court has upheld affirmative action as a constitutional legal concept while it has also limited its scope.
But the topic under discussion in this thread is abortion, not affirmative action.

7. ''compensatory damages''...so why aren't the slave owners compensating the former slaves then???????

"Affirmative action programs are compensation for hundreds of years of legal discrimination against minority groups."

Thanks for confirming that the whole affirmative action program is just really about punishing all white children for the crimes that some white children's great-great-grandparents did.................

Regarding abortion..........only the science deniers believe that aborting a fetus is not killing a human life.

9. Margaret Sanger

“Sanger worked with African American leaders and professionals who saw a need for birth control in their communities. In 1929, James H. Hubert, a black social worker and the leader of New York's Urban League, asked Sanger to open a clinic in Harlem. Sanger secured funding from the Julius Rosenwald Fund and opened the clinic, staffed with black doctors, in 1930. The clinic was directed by a 15-member advisory board consisting of black doctors, nurses, clergy, journalists, and social workers. The clinic was publicized in the African-American press as well as in black churches, and it received the approval of W. E. B. Du Bois, the co-founder of the NAACP and the editor of its magazine, The Crisis. Sanger did not tolerate bigotry among her staff, nor would she tolerate any refusal to work within interracial projects. Sanger's work with minorities earned praise from Martin Luther King, Jr., in his 1966 acceptance speech for the Margaret Sanger award.

From 1939 to 1942 Sanger was an honorary delegate of the Birth Control Federation of America, which included a supervisory role—alongside Mary Lasker and Clarence Gamble—in the Negro Project, an effort to deliver birth control to poor black people. Sanger advised Dr. Gamble on the utility of hiring a black physician for the Negro Project.”

A major stumbling block for all poor communities worldwide is having too many children that a poor household can’t afford. Family planning helps to reduce poverty.

11. I think this is a briar patch issue

RvW only helps repubs and Ds keep demanding it stand ONLY because it’s the other side. Easy peasy. Stupid. This is one where the parties should be arguing the opposite way someone explain it to me.
