1. they believe they are important. What did they do that saved lives, or fed the hungry?

We need to put this in the proper perspective. They play the game, GAME, of soccer very well but have made not a single contribution to mankind that improved anything for anyone except for themselves.

They are adult women playing kids games and contribute nothing to the betterment of mankind.

2. Most Americans are really proud

When ANY American sporting team wins a world championship in any sport.

Having pride in the accomplishments of your fellow citizens is a good thing. Most Americans like being number one in the world.

3. Proud of women playing kids games who have improved nothing but their bank accounts.

This is a very narrow and limited vision of the things that are important in life, but to each their own view.

6. I guess you missed

The American flags, the chants of “USA, USA, USA” and the team dressed in red, white and blue.

10. The only thing Megan pissed on

Was Trump’s tweet that she should “win before she talks.” She WON the world championship as team captain; she WON The Golden Boot as Top Scorer and she WON the Golden Boot as Best Player.

11. And then went on to lose the respect of

millions of her fellow countrymen.

In balance, she is a loser.

14. I have to disagree.

People derive tremendous pleasure from watching professional (and amateur, in some cases) athletes perform and compete. That quality-of-life improvement isn't something one should dismiss.

16. Some of 'em, sure.

Along with Rapinoe, Tierna Davidson, Adrianna Franch, Ashlyn Harris, and Ali Krieger are all out as gay or bisexual. On the other hand, Julie Ertz, Allie Long, Crystal Dunn, Alex Morgan, and Jessica McDonald (that I can remember off-hand) are married to men, and McDonald is the mother of a little boy. No idea about the rest of the current roster, as they don't make that aspect of their lives public (which is fine by me...all I care about really is how they play).
