The largest pedophile ring on earth

Nearly 800 former Boy Scouts claimed in a recent lawsuit that the Boy Scouts of America failed to protect them from sexual abuse at the hands of troop leaders and others in positions of power.
The suit, filed late Monday, claims the BSA has continually covered up a “pedophilia epidemic within their organization.” At a Tuesday press conference to discuss the lawsuit, attorneys said they have identified nearly 800 men from across the country who have accused at least 350 previously unknown scoutmasters and volunteers of sexual abuse. The accusations range from groping to rape.
“It’s the largest pedophile ring on earth,” attorney Tim Kosnoff said on Tuesday. “The numbers we’re talking about now dwarf what we’ve seen in the Catholic Church cases.”
The lawsuit claims that those 350 new abusers do not appear in the Boy Scouts’ disciplinary files, also known as the “perversion files,” which were published in 2012 and listed alleged abusers in the BSA organization. The accused include police officers, teachers, members of the military, doctors, a mayor and a child psychologist.

1. As much as it pains me to say this

Anyone who actually seeks out to work with children is, IMHO, suspect.

18. And I said "Why not, what makes women special?"

Do you need reading glasses, or reading classes?

I still want to know why every woman who chooses to work with children is suspect.

20. Actually, your question has already been answered twice.

First you asked : "Anyone? Women too?"

To which I replied: "Why not, what makes women special?"

Then you asked again: "Anyone? Including any women?"

To which I replied: "And I said Why not, what makes women special? Do you need reading glasses, or reading classes?"

Its quite obvious that you either did not see the words to read them, or did not understand what you read after reading them.

So my reply was spot on, girly-girly-girl.

"I still want to know why every woman who chooses to work with children is suspect."

I still want to know what makes women above suspicion (special), and since I asked first, put up or shut up.

Its a little late to play the Buttinski card after you've already engaged 3 times...and had your ass handed to you repeatedly.

11. Exactly. Even though Im an Eagle Scout, Id never consider getting involved with kids.

Not in today’s climate. A false accusation will pretty much be the end of one.

2. What a shame.

My uncle was a scoutmaster for 40 years. He was loved by his kids and he loved them. He passed this year and many, many of his former scouts came to pay their respects.

What a terrible shame.

7. No, this didn't all "explode" after "they let the gays in". With little doubt it started with the

founding of the BSA but now comes to light after a gaggle of NYC lawyers saw some $$$ signs.

9. The cases go back decades

The victims who have come forward are grown adults now.

Former Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert got exposed as an abuser of high school wrestlers 35 years after the abuse took place. Hastert is married and has two sons yet he had molested high school kids before he got into politics.
From Dennis Hastert’s Wikipedia page: “Hastert was a Boy Scout volunteer with Explorer Post 540 of Yorkville for 17 years, during his time as a schoolteacher and coach. Hastert reportedly traveled with the Explorers on trips to the Grand Canyon, the Bahamas, Minnesota, and the Green River in Utah.

In 1973, Hastert married a fellow teacher at the high school, Jean Kahl, with whom he had two sons.

8. Lefty made this happen, J4. You should be proud.

When the USSC let the boy scouts keep out gay leaders. Lefty screamed in outrage. After years of harressment the BSA let gays in. THAT moment is when the pedo crimes began. This Pedo ring is ENTIRELY a Lefty creation

10. Wrong

The abuse that’s coming to light now took place decades ago. For example: “The plaintiff, a Luzerne County, Pa., man identified in the suit only as S.D., says an assistant scoutmaster molested him at a camp and at the scoutmaster's house dozens of times in the 1970s, over the course of about five years starting when he was about 12 years old. Named as defendants in the lawsuit are the scoutmaster, Paul Antosh of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; the national Boy Scouts of America organization, based in Texas; and the regional Pennsylvania Mountains Council.

21. There are hundreds if not thousands of examples in New York state alone

“Justice late, not denied: New York to allow OLD abuse suits”
David Klepper
Aug 11, 2019 ASSOCIATED PRESS

ALBANY, New York - Hundreds, possibly thousands of people who say they were molested as children in New York state are expected to go to court this week to sue their alleged abusers and the institutions they say failed them, including the Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts, public schools and hospitals.
It’s all because of a landmark state law passed this year that creates a one-year window allowing people to file civil lawsuits that had previously been barred by the state’s statute of limitations, one of the nation’s most restrictive, that had prevented many victims from seeking justice for ***DECADES-OLD ABUSE.***
Many won’t even wait a day. Michael Schall, 64, who says his scoutmaster in the Buffalo suburbs molested him for two years ***BEGINNING IN 1968,*** will be among those filing lawsuits early Wednesday morning. It’s not about money, Schall said, it’s about standing up for the “sweet, naive” kid he once was, who had nowhere to turn.

This is my chance to say: this happened to me,” said Schall, who now lives in Portland, Oregon. “It’s affected me in so many different ways in my life, in who I am. This seems freeing. It’s like I’m bringing something to light that’s been held in the darkness for so long.”

The Boy Scouts of America said in a statement that it supports allowing victims to sue individual abusers and organizations even if the statute of limitations had expired - but only if the organization concealed or withheld evidence of the abuse.

The organization has acknowledged that sex-abuse litigation poses a financial impact and said it’s now “working with experts and exploring all options available so we can live up to our social and moral responsibility to fairly compensate victims who suffered abuse.”
“We believe victims, we support them, we pay for counseling by a provider of their choice, and we encourage them to come forward,” the organization said.
The law creating the litigation window - the Child Victims Act - passed earlier this year following more than a decade of debate in Albany. The law also extends the statute of limitations for molestation going forward, giving new victims until age 55 to file lawsuits and until age 28 to seek criminal charges, compared to 23 under the old statute.
The one-year litigation window for past claims that was barred by the statute of limitations had been the sticking point to getting the legislation approved. Major institutions such as the Catholic Church argued against it, warning that it could cause catastrophic financial harm to any organization that cares for children.
