Beto O'Rourke declares 'right' to live close to work; rich should 'be forced' to live among poor Fo

Presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke says it is a fundamental “right” for individuals to live near their place of employment and that wealthy Americans should “be forced” to live among the poor.

“Living close to work shouldn’t be a luxury for the rich. It’s a right for everyone,” the former Texas congressman tweeted Monday evening.

The Democrat’s tweet also included a video further explaining his position.

“Here’s the tough thing to talk about, though we must. Rich people are gonna have to allow — or be forced to allow — lower-income people to live near them, which is what we fail to do in this country right now,” Mr. O’Rourke says in the campaign clip.

Mr. O’Rourke then claims lower-income Americans must drive “one, two, three hours in either direction to get to their jobs, very often minimum wage jobs, so they’re working two or three of them right now.”

The candidate offers high-speed rail and transit as an initiative to “make sure that if you do not have a car, do not want to use a car you will not need to have one, or you will not be penalized for not having one right now.”

6. Yep I have that right, but nobody ever told me I couldnt.

It’s also my right to buy a home I can afford. Unfortunately I don’t have a right to make more money than I’m qualified for so I’m have to make a choice- do I want to own a house I can afford or do I rent closer to my job.

7. I'm fine with lower income people living near rich people

As long as they can afford the mortgages.

8. I wonder, does Mr. O'Rourke live in a lower, middle, or higher income neighborhood?

Hmmm, according to Wikipedia O'Rourke and his family live in a rather nice neighborhood. "The couple and their three children live in El Paso's Sunset Heights area in the Henry Trost-designed mission-style house where General Hugh Scott and Pancho Villa reportedly met in 1915."

Wikipedia's entry on Sunset Heights:
"Sunset Heights is a historic area in El Paso, Texas; which has existed since the latter part of the 1890s. Many wealthy residents have had their houses and mansions built on this hill. Although some buildings have been renovated to their former glory but many have been neglected and have deteriorated. An organization, the Sunset Heights Improvement Association helps neighbors on a fixed income to manage home maintenance and also sponsors an annual tour."

Sounds like he enjoys living in a nice historic neighborhood with notable neighbors. Not the sort of Deplorable riff-raff he wants to foist on others.

9. Beto is an idiot. He would run on growing long toenails if he thought it would get him votes.

Beto O'Rourke is showing himself to be a main stream liberal which means he is a desperate and pathetic political figure trying to gain power by telling any and every lie he can dream up.

Normal people would feel shame after being caught in all of the "Russia" lies they told but main stream lefty's just think it was just good practice so they can become better liars.
