I miss 9/12/2001

I would never ever want another 9/11, but I miss the America of 9/12.

Stores ran out of flags to sell because they were being flown everywhere.

People were Americans before they were upper or lower class, Jewish, Christian, or Atheist, Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative.

We hugged people without caring if they ate at Chick-Fil-A or wore Nikes.

On 9/12, what mattered more was what united us, than what divided us.

And I fear we'll never see that again.....

3. I pity anyone

that is so deeply entrenched in a political, philosophical, religious, race-based, etc view point that it fosters and grows hatred in them for people that do not share their view.

6. Willful ignorance and/or partisanship deserves to be ridiculed, not pitied......

5. Except for those in this country that celebrated the event

I know someone that sells to many of the merchants in the French Quarter.

They are Muslims and they openly told this person shortly after 9-11 that we deserved what happened in New York

7. I live in Houma....

...and there aren't many Muslims down this way. But, there is one convenience store owned/operated by a Middle Eastern family out on 182 and the day after 9/11, that place was literally covered in Red, White and Blue. They had Flags galore flying and might have been the most patriotic looking business on the Bayou.

So while we all know, and saw, some Muslims celebrating - on TV at least - I've never forgotten that display of love for America. I smoked at the time and stopped there to grab a pack and spoke with them and man, they were pissed off about it.

So, takes all kinds I guess

8. In my area Muslims were against the terrorists that caused 9/11

The local mosque held a multi faith memorial service soon after.

9. You do not need a national tragedy to see Americans lookong out for each other.

You just need to realize politcs plays a smaller part in peoples lives than DU or DI or cancerous social media posts portray.

11. Although I agree with you your post was not complete.

The main stream media are the one making the big bucks by fostering this national divide.

And for the record, they are left wing owned and the majority of those who profit from this are democrats.

Even the "BOYS" who are now in control of Fox are to the left.
