1. Surprising that a communist enclave such as Chicago would

have an issue with ethical lapses.

3. Tip of the iceberg

He was appointed by Rahm, after Rahm got caught sitting on the body cam and squad car camera recordings of knife wielding teenager Laquan McDonald being shot 16 times by a nervous cop ... until after his re-election. Johnson was the right color to bail Rahm's bony ass out for a while.

But notice that Rahm knew he would get his ass beat like a rented mule in the primary and didn't even try to run again.

But Johnson ran the CPD like his private patronage farm. His wife and others in the department close to him and politically connected at Johnson's direction were promoted multiple times based on "merit" and never taking the tests or actually serving in field command positions. That means all their salaries and pensions doubled ... or more.

The new Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, wanted to put her own person in that job since before she was elected. His getting caught with what was clearly a DUI, passed out behind the wheel of his city issued car, then trying to cover it up, gave her the opening she was looking for.

She's been quietly looking outside the CPD for his replacement since her election and has already narrowed it down to 2 finalists. There will be a "temporary" replacement, before a permanent Superintendent is named and approved by the rubber stamp city council.
